Drafting from the 4 spot - QB heavy league (1 Viewer)

Yeah, yeah, I know this isn't the help board, but I would like opinions on something unique.

I just found out that I'm picking 1.04 in my next weeks big money league draft.

QB scoring - 1pt for every 15yds passing or rushing. 6pts TD passing or rushing, 5pts bonus 300yds passing, 5pts bonus 100 yds rushing, 2pt bonus for 2pt conversion rushing or passing, -2 int or fumble.

RB scoring - 1pt for every 15yds passing, rushing, recieving . 6pts TD passing or rushing. 5pts bonus 100yds passing or recieving (or 10pt for both), 2pt bonus for 2pt conversion rushing, recieving, or passing.

Current ADP is for me to grab on the top running backs, but if I do, in this league, all the top QBs will be gone by my next round. Last years top 10 scorers were QB's. 4 had 500+ points, Rogers topped with 534, the other 3 were Brees, Manning, and Schaub. The closest RB was C.J. at 397.

I'm also a Packer homer, so my homerism is telling me to take Rogers again, and wait on a RB the next 2 rounds.

With this scoring would you reach at QB at the 4 spot?

I was in a similar situation with the 4th pick in my draft... I took an RB. Then several position players before trying to find some QB value in the mid rounds.

For what it is worth, I would have gone QB w/ #5 - I really wanted an elite QB this year, but it just did not work out for me.

With scoring as 1 pt for 15 yds passing and 15 yds rushing, all TDs as 6 and no PPR, I would go Rodgers (or Brees if Rodgers is gone). May even go Rodgers at 3 (MJD scares me this year). For me it isn't close with that scoring.

With the 6 points TD passing it does make # 4 an intriguing pick  Plus, being a Green Bay homer is all the more reason to root. Yet, it's about the money

The trend has been not to go back to back with QB's winning fantasy scoring titles. Doesn't mean it won't this year. However, a guy like Brady or Schaub could end up # 1 this year? Plus, taking a QB early changes the dynamic with top RB's / WR's - something has to give.

Like the last poster, if you had a # 5 - # 8 pick then perhaps Rodgers cuz the top RB's are off the board along with AJ most likely.

Getting AP is solid, getting a top 10 WR (Wayne, White, Fitzgerald, Marshall, Jennings, Colston, etc.) with your second pick unless a "stud" RB (Williams, Mendenhall, Mathews) is still there is not too bad either. Picking up Brady, Romo, or Schaub with your third pick.

Gosh, I just saw my first three picks :hey:

Going Rodgers with 6 points for throwing TD's is attractive, yet now you scramble and hope. It may work out great?

Last years draft, 4 QB went in the 1st, and 4 in the 2nd. I got AR at 1.05, and believe it or not, Gore fell to me in the 2nd, and I picked up McFadden in the 3rd. 3 weeks into the season, Gore and McInjury were hurt, leaving me to bomb. It was nice having Rogers lead the league, but injuries can kill you in a heartbeat.

....I'm also a Packer homer, so my homerism is telling me to take Rogers again
So you had Rodgers last year? How did you finish, and who did you have at RB?Your scoring is similar to my league, and we had similar results (8 QBs outscored CJ).

I'd have no problem taking Rodgers or Brees at 4, but it puts more pressure on your later picks.

If you KNOW that other owners will be drafting a lot of QBs in the first two rounds, that lets other players slip through the cracks. This is what most people don't understand if they've never played in a league like this. Guys like Ryan Mathews will still be on the board for your 2.09 pick in these leagues. So take your QB and run.
