They definitely could, but the $4,300 price tag just screams value to me. Gurley looked great on the road against Arizona.

I like your Forsett pick a lot. At home against a weak Cleveland run defense. Also like D. Lewis's pricing, and Woodhead's price still remains a bargain. Not a bad week to pay up for Charles either. A riskier play for a GPP could be Chris Thompson of Washington. Atlanta could open up a big lead on WAS, and Thompson could be seeing the field a lot in passing situations. On a similar note, Garcon's not a bad play either with J. Reed questionable to play.

My first official lineup for this week-

Palmer

Freeman

Lewis

Hopkins

Cobb

T. Benjamin

O. Daniels

Gronk

Chiefs

Another one I like is

Rodgers @ home Vs STL

Bell @ SD

Lewis @ Dallas

Moncrief @ Hou

Hurns @ TB

james Jones @ home vs Stl

Gronk @ Dallas

Owen Daniels @ Oak

Giants @ home vs SF

Mumphery is a cheap GPP option at WR. Other cheap choices look better as cash options but for GPP he has some upside.

I assume he means Ty Montgomery, at least that's who I was thinking about as a cheap option this week. If Davante is still out.

ok who the heck is Mumphery>
WR for Houston with Shorts and Washington both potentially missing the game, he will start. Risky but with Houston likely getting behind and throwing a lot he could see a decent number of targets.

If luck plays yes. If luck doesn't play this game is gonna be awful

Coleman is back at practice. I won't have any of Freeman this week.

Montgomery is a GPP flyer only in my eyes. The consistent targets aren't there.

Colts aren't blowing out anyone in their current state. The play for Thursday is Foster. Guy is going to have 25-30 touches.

Freeman is the clear lead back so I think he still has value even with Coleman back. Things could change but for now I think Coleman will see limited work.

Agreed colts aren't likely to blow anyone which is why Mumphery is just a GPP flyer not a cheap cash game option. I will be fading that game completely for cash games.

Here are the reasons I will be avoiding Freeman

  • Cost has gone up 1800 from week 3
  • If Coleman is playing I would expect him to take around 10 touches, which limits Freeman's upside
  • Washington's run defense is for real
  • Washington's secondary is in shambles, and Julio had like 30 yards last week (rebound time)
I've ridden him the past two weeks to some nice cashes but I'm jumping off the train this week

Blount seems like a risky play (is this a GPP?). You're almost betting on a touchdown because he doesn't catch hardly any passes and isn't the primary back right now. If NE does get up huge like they did last week, it could definitely pay off. But he's been a hit or miss proposition his whole time in NE.

It's a 50 50. Yeah your prob right. I need to find a cheap flex. Preferably a rb. Prob a good idea to not play 3 ne players too

That is not a lineup I would ever use for a 50/50.

Vjax floor is very low. Same with John Brown. Brady Edelman is fine but if you have that you can't have Blount also, too much risk if they flop.

Anybody playing in the turbo survivor contest? Curious to see how people are approaching the first week of it.

Locked this in as my 50/50 lineup this week

Rodgers v Stl

Bell @ SD

Charles v Chi

Aiken v Cle

Hopkins v Indy

Hurns @ TB

Daniels @ Oak

Lewis @ Dal

Jags @ TB

With Luck out I'm considering some play on Texans DT although they have done almost nothing so far this year. Only other player from tonight's game I will have any part of is Hopkins.

As someone who is new to DFS this season, I have a question for you all about how to approach GPP tournaments: which GPPs do you guys put most of your lineups into? Do you all spread lineups across multiple tournaments (which ones?), or do you all just throw your lineups at the same big money tournament of the week? I'm doing pretty well for myself so far with bankroll management and lineup construction, and I'm doing well with cash games game selection, but I haven't figured out a strategy on tournament game selection besides overlay hunting.

I should just stop playing GPP, have Hopkins in all my cash games tonight but for some reason not in GPP.

had Hopkins in half of my lineups this week.

what is GPP anyway?
Means guaranteed prize pool but typically refers to the larger tournaments as opposed to cash games which typically are H2H, 50/50, X2, and X3. X5 and up plays more like GPP although often GPP is only referring to the large tournaments.

I only put I small amount of play in large tournaments but my ROI is dramatically lower in those as compared to anything else.

oh I see, didn't get the lingo. I play some of those for $1 just hoping to strike lightning. mostly play 50/50

If all of your cash game action is in 50/50s I would suggest putting at least some in X2 and X3 as it will give your ROI a nice boost in good weeks.

Went all in on Hopkins, GPP and 50/50. Used him as the WR1 in most lineups. Was even able to pair him with Julio in one lineup.

May eat my words here but I think I'm going to come completely off of Devonta Freeman. He'll be highly owned in GPP. Coleman is going to get some touches, tough running D matchup, and 3 in a row by a previous non-stud just doesn't happen much in FF

Extremely overvalued this week IMO.

I'm only playing two games this week. A 50/50 and a small GPP. Lineups:

50/50

QB - Palmer

RB - Charles

RB - Martin

WR - Cobb

WR - Crabtree

WR - Robinson

TE - Eifert

FLEX - Gurley

DEF - Patriots

GPP

QB - Palmer

RB - Charles

RB - Martin

WR - Cooper

WR - Calvin

WR - Mi Floyd

TE - Eifert

FLEX - A Rob

DEF - Patriots

May have a decent little sweat here if my afternoon guys can run as hot as my morning guys did. Charles at RB hurts though. Especially with Gurley and Rawls having big games for cheap. Imagine lots of teams will have them.

Should've trusted my gut and gone with this roster more, as I really liked it when I put it in:

Rivers

Forsett

Martin

Edelman

Fitz

D.Thomas

Clay

Gurley

NYG

Looks like over 150pts with Rivers to go.

Actually one of my better weeks - I think I will win all my double ups with various rosters. Probably will win a couple bucks on gpps, so will be ahead this week. Did well with my Brady/Edelman/D.Lewis triple stack and my Brees/Snead and McCown/Benjamin combos. Across the board my TEs and DTs blew and Charles going out and actually betting on Lacy doing a damn thing cost me a bit. Overall not a bad week, and still have a few guys playing here and there tomorrow night, so might be able to climb the boards a tad more with some big performances.

Turns out it wasn't a good move to axe him but I essentially replaced him with Gurley so it didn't really matter.

Week 1 - won almost everything I entered

Week 2 - won almost everything I entered

Week 3 - lost everything I entered

Week 4 - won almost everything I entered

Week 5 - break even

This is how I've been proceeding each week:

Total amount in play each week is 20% of bankroll, of that:

80% is cash, using 2 lineups:

- 50% of cash games are a high floor lineup with no stacks for 50/50s

- Other 50% of cash games is a high floor lineup but with a chalk stack for triple ups and quintuple ups

20% is GPP

- Multiple entries in the $1.5M play action and $150K first down

- Different lineups swinging for the fences with little overlap. Typical lineup: An unusual stack, a few studs, a couple punt plays

My strategy is similar except my true GPP % is only about 5-10 because honestly I suck at it. ROI is about 10% on the season for GPP. Oh and I put 30% of bank in play each week.

Overall

Week 1 30% ROI

Week 2 90%

Week 3 95%

Week 4 85%

Week 5 Currently -40% ROI

I expect to end up losing some this week but cash lineups being very heavy on Bell and Rivers, pretty heavy on Allen, and some Gates is hard to know how much of that current -40% I will make up tonight.

Yep, spoke way too soon. Everybody ended up catching up to me despite having people in tonight's game. Only ended up winning one 50/50. Long story short, I still kinda suck at this.

It's probably the 5th time I've said it in this forum but doing 100% 50/50s is very risky. You either win it all or lose it all.

What was your score? I did about 40 $1 h2hs. I count 14 wins with a score of 130. While obviously not great it's better than you would get with all 50/50s from that lineup.

Won my 50/50. Have almost doubled my initial pre-Week 1 deposit. Overall winner 4 out of 5 weeks.
