Drew Brees Thread (2 Viewers)

He would have gotten a lot more than Cousins got per year in my opinion. If you were the Jets or Browns, would you not offer Drew ####### Brees 40MM per year to solve your QB issue?

If you are sitting Brees this week, who are you are starting over him? I'm stuck between Brees and Cam. I'm leaning Cam.

Yep, not a great match up -- BAL has been playing lights out in the secondary, and can generate a great pass rush to boot.

That said, not too many WW options I would say clearly would do better -- Winston would be one, Dalton the other. Both guys long rostered in my league.

Other than those, I'll take Brees over the wide variance of Mayfield on the road, Trubisky having to face off NE...who else you got?

As far as other choices you likely drafted, yes, Cam Newton -- even against a tough PHI D -- makes sense given what he gives you on the ground. Rivers too.

But after that, I think Brees is smart enough to adjust game plan -- before and during the game -- and leverage guys like Kamara and Watson more to attack short/middle with the pass. Kamara is good enough on his own to create, and if Watson hits a few up-the-middle seams, could be nice for solid rips and EX targets. And Thomas is talented enough for a few deep 50/50s.

Rolling Brees out with confidence, knowing he won't likely net me over 20, but will have a solid floor that will contribute enough this week.

Wow. This thread is quiet.

Any Brees owners concerned that the offense goes more run heavy down the stretch? NO isn't going to be facing the LARs every week.

This week will be interesting. @CINCI. Favored. Could see CINCI offense all screwed up minus AJ Green and Dalton being Dalton. Cinci D is horrendous as well. Could see NO getting up big and then just handing the rock off to Kamara/Ingram. Especially with it being outdoors.

Schedule looks promising for the most part:Think Brees will have to keep pace against the likes of PHI, ATL, TB, CAR, PIT. Great playoff stretch. However, several games down the end there are outdoors.  where Brees numbers usually are lower.

As for this week, I'm sitting him for Cam. This is definitely a game they control the ball on the ground.

I do think some of the concerns about this offense turning more run-heavy as the weather turns, and NO getting up on opponents and taking the gas off the pass game -- as well as the ever-present and maddening 5-7 snaps/game that Peyton loves to use his useless gadget QB for -- are well founded and will mean we won't see those 30+ FPS games like we did vs TB, ATL, WAS, and LAR this year.

We may indeed see a game or two in the sub-10 points like against NYG or MIN (and if I'm a betting man, likely we will see it during the upcoming PHI game or during the playoffs against PIT and CAR)

But that said, totally agree with the above posters -- if you have Brees, you start him. No need to get cute.

No.

Every single remaining game is in a dome or a stadium with a retractable roof other than against the Bucs, so weather will not be as big a factor as it could be.

Also, Drew Brees is in the middle of arguably the greatest season by a QB in NFL history.  Sean Payton will keep feeding him to solidify that.

He should destroy that Philly secondary this weekend.

As a Thomas and Ingram owner, this is music to my ears.  I had my chances to land all three.  Chose Collins instead. ? Brees and the Saints are easy to rout for.

As the Kamara and Brees owner in the Shining Path league, I’m pretty happy myself.

It's gotta be his to lose at this point... the "never having won it" will play heavily here IMO. Mahomes will have plenty of chances.

Stinks for Gurley, but it's largely a QB award.
