Am I forced to go with Moss or Owens in the first?

Which running backs will be available in the second?

What should my strategy be?

I'm behind the 8-ball this season probably because I'm a Giants fan and am satisfied after winning the Super Bowl.

Please help.

Moss may be gone by 9. He was in my league when i drafted 10th. You are probably looking at a choice between Portis and Lynch if you want to go RB. If Portis or Lynch are already gone, it probably means that somebody like Barber, SJ, or Brady has fallen. In the second round (is this pick 12 or 16? 10 or 12 team league?) You are looking at your choice of top receivers or LJ, Grant, MJD for RB's.I drafted 10th in both my 10 teamer and 12 teamer. My 12 teamer, my choice was Portis,Lynch, or Brady--I went Brady and then LJ in the second. In hindsight, I should have taken Portis, because either 11 or 12 would have had to start the draft QB/QB for me to not get Romo or Brees, but I was stunned that brady was there. so I snatched him up.In my 10 teamer, I took Moss/Portis at the turn.So at 9 you should have a choice of Brady/Moss/Portis/Lynch/and maybe Barber in the first round and then LJ/Grant/MJD/Braylon/Wayne/ Fitz/maybe even Owens/Romo/or Brees in the second.Depends on your scoring system and what drafting strategy you are comfortable with. You are definately not screwed, I actually prefer a later pick this season over picking in the middle spots. Just let the draft come to you, and make good value picks and you will be fine. If you are experienced enough, you will be able to adapt your drafting strategy to the actual draft as it comes (on the fly)Good Luck! :bye:

Youre in great shape. Of all the drafts I've done, the prime spot to be is right at the back of the pack in the first round. Portis and a top WR is the best way to go 1-2.

I've also seen LJ drop to mid 2nd round in 12 teamers. You could have a Portis/LJ backfield or Portis/MJD backfield. Not bad either. Dont trip, you're in a good place.

I agree with the general sentiment here. I drafted #9 in a 10-teamer last night and it was beee-autiful. The value dropped to me all night, beginning with Barber at 1.09 and Lynch at 2.02. I doubt you'll be that lucky, frankly, but you are in great shape to grab value and instigate runs.

Thanks for the input!

Anyone else?

How do I pass up Brady of Moss if they're there?

Got Moss & LJ this weekend in my final draft from the 9 spot in a 12 teamer. I was happy.

GL tonight.

my money league draft was on monday. i had the 9th overall pick. Had a chance to get brady....passed on him and got Lynch. Then suddenly Portis was still available in the 2nd! Got him...brandon jacobs in the 3rd, Jason Witten in the 4th!

9th in 10 teamer ppr league. Got Gore/TO in the first turn. I figured one of Gore, Addai, Barber or possibly Moss/Brady would fall. And Gore did. Easy selection at 9. I then had the choice of TO/Fitz/Wayne at 2.02.

I drew 9th last night in a big money, first year keeper league. Here's the results.

1.9 Moss

2.2 Gore

3.9 Calvin Johnson

4.2 Brandon Jacobs

5.9 Santonio Holmes

6.2 Carson Palmer

7.9 LenDale White

8.2 Jerricho Cotchery

9.9 Johnathan Stewart

10.2 Chris Johnson

11.9 Tedd Ginn Jr.

12.2 Kellen Winslow

13.9 Matt Hasselbeck

14.2 Nate Kaeding

15.9 Ahmad Bradshaw

16.2 Leon Washington

I really like the 9th - 10th slot in a 10 team league. There's still high upside Rbs and Wrs floating around at the 3rd and 4th pick. I drew 9th in a 12 teamer as well and went Lynch and Romo. Had Romo slipped to 3.9 I would have taken him there. I think 9th is a good slot.

Here is my team from the 9 hole in my 12 team 1PPR league. A few sharks but more guppies. Gore was there, but I chose Barber. I just figured with a bit more knowledge in my pocket I wanted to take a bit more of a safe play (my projections have MB3's floor as higher than Gore's) because value would be there later. I think was right, Bush in the late third was huge, I couldn't hit the "pick" button fast enough. Ok here it is:

1.09 9. Barber, Marion DAL RB Sun Aug 31 7:04:38 p.m. ET 2008

2.04 16. Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR Sun Aug 31 7:07:55 p.m. ET 2008

9.09 105. Delhomme, Jake CAR QB Sun Aug 31 8:06:16 p.m. ET 2008

10.04 112. Warner, Kurt ARI QB Sun Aug 31 8:09:41 p.m. ET 2008

11.09 129. Rice, Sidney MIN WR Sun Aug 31 8:21:12 p.m. ET 2008

12.04 136. Bruce, Isaac SFO WR Sun Aug 31 8:25:18 p.m. ET 2008

13.09 153. Clayton, Mark BAL WR Sun Aug 31 8:36:33 p.m. ET 2008

14.04 160. Slaton, Steve HOU RB Sun Aug 31 8:40:57 p.m. ET 2008

15.09 177. Rackers, Neil ARI PK Sun Aug 31 8:49:24 p.m. ET 2008

16.04 184. Bills, Buffalo BUF Def Sun Aug 31 8:52:37 p.m. ET 2008

I am not sure why I drafted Delhomme right before Warner, lol. Overall I am satisfied. Someone offered me McFadden for Marshall, but I really don't need more depth at RB, rather WR. Anyway, don't sweat it, RBBC has saved the back of the draft owners, IMO.

In hindsight 20-20 I should have taken Moss and Portis but I played it conservatively.

I'm Brown Gold.

I'm pretty dissapointed with my team.

I suppose I should have done more research.

I'm sort of stuck in my ways in terms of playing conservatively ie taking rbs early etc.

This despite the fact that one of my best years I went QB/WR in the year Manning and Harrison busted out.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to contend for the title so I'll have to work the waiver wire.

I think the lesson here is not to be afraid to take chances and go for boom type players ie Moss over Barber etc.

I'm in only one league this year so this suxors.
