Driver- expectations this week (1 Viewer)

How anyone can be in the Super Bowl and not know who to start amazes me.
Could it be that (1) fantasy owners that have advanced this far probably have superior depth at each position and (2) those owners are going to think even harder than usual about who they should start, given that it may determine whether they win a championship?

Playing against him in my main league (TD only) in the second round. He can get all the yards in the world for all I care... just no TDs, please! :o

 I have to pick 2 out of the top 4 Wr's this weekDriver Owens Wayne

I, like many others, are debating whether or not to go with DD tomorrow against the Vikings. What do you guys think we can expect from him. There are a few reasons why I think he\'s a strong start this week; first off, after watching the Jet game this past week, it was abundantly clear that the Vikings have one of the worst secondaries in the league. I fully expect them to keep Green in check, forcing Favre to chuck the ball most of the game. Secondly, Driver has already torched the Vikings this year for a career high 191 yards and 1 TD. I know 82 of those yards came on one catch, but I still see the Packers putting up good offensive numbers this week. Finally, Favre played pretty bad last week and I know he hasn\'t had much success at Lambeau for most of the year, but this could be his last hurrah. If this is indeed his last game at home, I expect him to go out in a blaze of glory. I see Driver going for 9 - 125-1 Thoughts? Predictions?
The only reason you wouldn't play Driver is if you have two other top 10 WR's on your roster.Driver is a must start.

Same boat. Picking one between Driver, S Smith and J Walker.

I was a bit off last week concerning Driver H.K....although I was closer than you. How about a signature Bet?

Your prediction - 3 catches for 26 yards. In standard yardage/td scoring (1 point per 10 yards receiving, 6 points per TD) - no PPR. Driver would rack up 2.6 points.

I predict he will get at least triple that - 7.8. Signature bet on who is closer?

If Driver gets closer to 7.8 than 2.6, your signature must say for 1 week - "Salmonstud knows a lot more than me. I wish I had just a fraction of his fantasy football knowledge."
Why not? It's not like anyone around here would diasgree with that bolded statement in my signature. However, I want to change the conditions to PPR and decimal scoring for each yard gained rush/rec. (TD=6, fum -1).

3 for 26 = 5.6

Tripled based on your proposal: 5.6 x 3 = 16.8

I'll give you the push, so 11.2 or over, you win. FYI - Driver averages 17.1 PPG in this format.

If I win your sig must read "H.K. is a moron, but he did beat me in a sig bet" for a week.
9/99 yards = 18.9.....just slightly triple your projections. Looks like Salmonstud wins again. I look forward to seeing your new signature in bold blue or red letters...I'll let you choose. :goodposting:

A TD would have been nice, but I'll take my 18 points to my opponents 8 for Chester. Good start to the weekend.

Not everyone does PPR. 99 yards was nice, but in my league it was 9 pts. One more yard, would have netted me 12 pts (2 pt bonus for 100+ yards) Here is hoping his stat line gets changed somehow!!! LOL :banned:

PPR leagues may have loved his performance but those of us not in PPRs got 9.9 or in my case, 9. Was really expecting a TD. :banned:

He did great by me (yes I am in a PPR league). Especially considering my opponent started Favre as one of his QBs (our flex can be a 2nd QB). So my WR scored 14.4 to his QB scoring 8.2 -- I am thrilled.

Unfortunately my opponent's RBs are LJ, Steven Jackson and Marion Barber so I'm probably going to get killed anyway.

How many other catches did he have that were called back due to a GB penalty or a MIN holding penalty? I remember seeing at least 2. I am specifically avoiding the play-by-play on NFL.com. Too painful to look at.Where's that HK guy? Time to eat some crow, DD hater.

If you've been a DD hater this year, it hasn't worked out too well for you. Driver has had a great year. His TD numbers aren't awesome, but recs and yards are getting up there... both career highs, I think.

Looking at Driver in dynasty and keeper leagues is tricky though.

Can I put it in green for the Packers? Even though he didn't score, I'll take the 18.9. :fishing: FYI - I'll change my sig on Tuesday after this week's games.

Why after Tuesday...not as many people on the message board? :bs:

Very impressed with Driver last night, especially in my PPR league.

He was playing hurt and I thought he was gone for good in the 3rd when he went to the locker room, but I hoped he would come back (as he did) for Favre and his possible last game @ Lambeau.

GDB Aaron Rogers throwing to him next year though.

Well, put me in the club that's content with Driver's performance last night but FRUSTRATED that 1 more yard would have given me the 100yd bonus in my league.

My favorite part ( :ptts: ) was when I clicked back to the game in the 4th and Gumbel announced that Driver caught the long pass from Favre down to the Minny 27. Then the WR stood up and Gumbel says, "Ruvell Martin!"

Yeah, that was fun!

If it weren't for the Vikings constantly getting called for Defensive penalties, Driver would've had another 2 receptions for approx another 15 yards. :goodposting:

ditto except my bonus would've been 5 so instead of 15 I got 9

I know. That pissed me off. It seemed like they were getting called on every other play.
