Probably shouldn't have played against the Jets...but he tried and the coaches trusted him...ended up straining it a bit to go with the bruise from what I read.Hopefully the 2+ weeks (if he practices after the bye) will do him some good.Meanwhile...Jones better start catching the ball when it hits him in his hands.
I'm concerned the injury could linger. I have no evidence whatsoever to base it on other than good luck has been in small supply for the Packers. I'm a huge Driver fan so I hope he heals during the bye week but I worry that considering his age this could be the type of injury which stays with him for awhile.
It was predicted before 2010 season began that James Jones could take over as the WR2. Driver had surgery this offseason and it was only a matter of time until his age caught up. I expect James Jones to have a good game against a gutless Cowboys team this Sunday. The change could be permanent if Greenbay wants younger faster receivers now that Finley is out. Throw Nelson into the mix as well.

Jones could go for 10-200-8 on Sunday night and Driver will still be a 99.9% lock to regain his starting job in Week 11 if he's healthy. It will take more than one good game from Jones to unseat Driver. Now if Driver can't get healthy then we have a whole new ballgame.
I have a feeling Jordy Nelson is going to be the better long term pickup over James Jones. JJ has brick hands. Not good for a guy trying to catch Rodgers' bullets.

The surgery has nothing to do with Driver. He got hit on his thigh and bruised it.Those younger WRs better prove they can hold onto the ball (granted, Driver has had his share of drops this year too).
