For you guys with Directv who don't already have the MLB EI package, this is your lucky day. Just scored it plus Showtime/Starz for 3 months all for free (actually saved $12 or so).

Call 1-888-814-7419 and tell them your buddy got a deal on a package of Choice Xtra, Showtime, Starz, and the MLB package. It's not a sure thing as some people have been told they're ineligible, but I, like many others, had the deal done in 2 minutes total on the phone. Damn I love you guys! I just called the number and told them my buddy got this deal and I wanted to see if I qualified. He asked for my phone number and checked for me and said I was. I got upgraded to Choice Extra, got Showtime, Starz and the MLB package and my bill is going to go up alittle less than $2 a month for the next three month (was paying $57 for Choice now paying $59 for everything). Then he said after 3 months if I want to cancel I can and my bill will go back to normal and I will still have the MLB package for the remainder of the season. THANKS!!!

What the hell. They checked when I called and said I wasn't qualified. She didi say they may call me to offer it later.

I going to have to try it again.

 
Since I already get just about everything they offer, I went ahead and called DTV directly, when prompted I said, "Cancel service"...got xfer'd to retention and asked if they could throw me a bone. She gave me $20 off per month for 6 months. I simply just asked. Always nice to save a few bucks here and there!

 
I got choice extra, showtime, and mlb ei for 3 months at 59.99. After the 3 months, i can cancel the choice extra & showtime, and keep MLB

This is saving me about $5 a month over my current bill, and I get free beisbol.

I asked why I am not eligible. I asked what I have to do to become eligible. She told me that I have to be on the list to become eligible. This went on for about 5 minutes. I think I'm actually dumber now thanks to this conversation.

I just called the number in the OP, that is the one according to the slick deals thread, she knew exactly what I was talking about before I was done talking. :) you probably just got one of the many crappy CSR's they have on staff.

My experience exactly. Make sure you're calling the # in the OP and not the generic 800 number. GL, icon.

Not sure what else you're looking for. I called. I got denied. I asked why. I was basically told I'm not lucky. That's pretty much it. :thumbup: It would be cool to get the package for free. I'd actually buy it if they didn't have the gall to charge extra for the HD, but I'm not going to beg for it. I can watch any game I want for free online elsewhere if I want to anyway.
