I agree.......in principal, I've got no problem with dump tradesWe had one owner last year who made some 12 trades.Maybe looking at a cap on the total number of trades instead of worrying about dump trades.

what are his keepers like for this year? 12 trades better be worth it.j/k actually it was worth it. im that owner. ended up getting A Rod - Hanley - Morneau none of which were on my team earlier in the year
...or maybe teams in the bottom half of the standings must keep or trade a player they traded for. but this is only in effect for 2 weeks prior to the deadline.
12 team 5X5 keeper leagueunique keeper system that gives players value based on when they are draftedOver the past couple years, we've started to see a large number of obnoxious dump trades. How does your league handle dump trades?
The "rebuilding" trades will always appear out of sorts to some, but in good keeper leagues you want to have them but not have them abused. Here are a couple of things that work well to at least help from too many1) NO trades for the first month of the season! (Years ago we had an owner who wasn't happy with his draft and started "rebuilding" the week after the draft. Turns out he traded away a team that would have finished in the money and then didn't enjoy the season as much as he would have)2) Maximum of THREE major league players dealt from any one team to another team.3) Teams are NOT allowed to make another trade with the same team for four weeks (this helps prevent someone from circumventing the earlier rule or "adjusting". It also makes people think more about the trades they are making and who will be their trade partners later in the year)4) NO TRADES after the first weekend in August (there is just no way even for a valid trade that a trade in September should change the course of teams that late in the season. So we have three months of trading - May, June and July and this also helps prevent trades that shouldn't be made)And of course teams should be paying real $ for each trade they make.
