Dunn vs. Norwood (1 Viewer)

Dunn had a decent game on Sunday, but his yards per carry were down again. I read he has a nagging groin injury, and, in the games I have seen, Dunn appears slow getting to the hole. Mora is never going to bench Dunn while healthy, however, Norwood has seen increased carries and is as explosive a back that there is in the NFL. Any thoughts on whether this might lead to better things for Norwood over the next 4 weeks?

I am interesed in this as I have both on my roster. Tough not to start Dunn over Norwood he gets more carries and has a better chance of getting the goaline carries.

Now if Dunn was ever out with an inury I would like Norwood allot.

While Atl is still in the WC hunt, I think you see a bit of both, with Dunn carrying the bulk. If Atl drops out of the race, or locks up a position, look for lots of Norwood to see what he has.

I own both in a keeper league. We can only keep 4, so both will likely be dropped, but I'd love to keep Norwood if I knew he was going to be the man next year.

The organization is fiercely loyal to Dunn. They see him as the cornerstone of what they are building.

Should Norwood get more carries? No doubt. Will he? Hard to tell.

Norwood has shown explosion the ATL offense has been lacking. But he showed that in preseason. I'm not sure he showed anything Sunday that he has already shown. At best, it will be a Tatum Bell home threat type situation, giving him 8-10 carries a game.

Still a very tough start in most leagues. He'll get 9 yards as likely as getting 109 yards. Without Dunn getting hurt, I just don't see him taking over in any fashion.

Some how, some way, Warrick Dunn will end up being on the Falcon's roster in 2007. I think he has a much greater chance of losing his starting spot to Norwood in 2007 compared to 2006, but it is still his job to lose IMO.

It's gonna take an injury to dethrone Warrick Dunn. For 2006 I can't see starting Norwood at all, especially at this critical time in the fantasy season.

Yeah, I'm in a keep 6 and Norwood is going to be a very tough call for me. He's going to be in consideraton for the last roster spot with players like Droughns, Eli Manning, Braylon Edwards. One of those things that it's hard to keep him yet when he blows up you'll be sorry later. As a side note, even with a keep 4, how do you not keep Dunn?

I'm keeping LJ, Portis, KJ and "85"... :D Dunn is trade bait for draft picks. Norwood isn't drawing much trade interest.

dunn strikes me as a clubhouse leader type. i can't see him being outright benched. i see him in a dillon/maroney type situation next year if he doesn't retire. 2008 will be norwood's year.

be patient. the kid will be worth it.

The FBG email today had a blurb about Norwood with Mora saying they got to get the kid the ball more, but it is tough with Dunn going well. Norwood is a game changer. His 4th Q stats are sick. I'd love to see what he can do with 20+ carries. I think dynasty players should target this guy hard. Seems like a good buy low guy with Dunn getting the most carries right now. I have no idea if Norwood will actually pan out as a full time player, but seeing him run I get the feeling he'll be a special back when he gets his opportunity. He might even be the best RB of a great rookie class when it's all said and done.

I don't think Dunn is necessarily a keeper. He'll be what...32 or 33 next year? Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for Dunn and he's been one of my favorite players ever because he's a 'Nole and he's a class act, but I think he's smart enough to know he's heading for the cliff and he might step away ala Tiki Barber at the end of this season. That's why I think the prospects for Norwood next year are pretty damn good.

1st year of Goal line work for Dunn at 31. I would wonder how much tread is left on the tire also.

It'll be interesting to see if the Falcons decide to cut back a bit on Dunn's touches to keep him fresh given this development. From RotoWorld:

Warrick Dunn admitted that he's been struggling with an ankle injury and soreness in his groin, stemming from a preseason injury.

Dunn has actually held up better physically than we imagined he would this season. But he has tailed off after his fast start and coach Jim Mora says he wants Jerious Norwood more involved in the offense. Just don't expect Norwood to take over.

Funny, I've got both Dunn and Norwood in a keep 5 league and debating which one to keep or possibly release both. Nobody in my league has ever respected Dunn so his value is a little deflated and I'm actually considering keeping Norwood and then trying to re-acquire Dunn thru the draft.Definitely keeping these 4:

Brees (didn't think I'd be keeping him, but I'd expect him to continue the pace in 2007)

T.Jones

J.Walker

Gonzo

plus 1 of these (Dunn, Norwood, L.Jordan)

I do like that Norwood has seen some receiving and isn't just a runner.
