Dwayne Bowe - This Year's Garbage Time Fantasy Star? (1 Viewer)

If the first two weeks are any indication, then the Chiefs are likely to be playing a lot of catchup in the second half of games. Bowe put up 100+ yards and 2 TDs on 15 targets in Week 2. He was the #2 fantasy WR with Cassel in 2010. He's a free agent after this season and playing for his first (and probably only) big NFL contract, so he'll be playing all out even if the Chiefs are blown out. Cassel will also be playing for his NFL future. Seems like a recipe for another top 5 fantasy season.

As long as Cassel's upright I think Bowe is underrated by all the "gurus". And it doesn't matter if KC is in garbage time or not. Cassel loves Bowe.

He's an elite talent and was on his way to a second straight top 10 season when Cassel got hurt in week 9 last year. The Chiefs stopped scoring entirely after that. Assuming Cassel stays healthy, I think Bowe is a great bet for 1,200 yards. Then it's just the TDs to determine whether he's a top 10 WR or a top WR.

After watching every play of both Chiefs games this year, it looks like Bowe will regularly be in position to succeed.

Was just offered Charles and Bowe for Murray in a PPR. The thing is, it's hard for me to value Bowe much more than LaFell...

He's very streaky. I've had him it seems the last 3 years and he's one of those guys who can have a great day or you have to see if he even played the entire game because his stat line is so low.

Bowe is a nice Wr3 flex option with upside, when he's your weekly no 2, there will be times he just doesn't come through but I always start him. Wasn't that happy week 1 but obviously was this week, that is Dwayne Bowe.

I live in Kansas, so I end up watching most Chief's games by default. I owned Bowe in my main league in 2010. Get's his numbers in games that are out of hand. In 2010, in games decided by 15 or more, he had 831 yards and 11 TD's. In games decided by less than that, he had 4 TD's and 331 yards.

exactly my thoughts, i have never owned him but i do this year and i'm hoping to parlay last weeks big game into trade bait

Almost all WRs are streaky. If you toss out the games last year where Cassel was injured, Bowe has pretty solid week-to-week numbers from 2010 to the present. Over that time, he has been a top 10 WR. He is not a WR3.

After 4 weeks, Bowe is the #4 fantasy receiver. He is #1 in targets and is on pace for a 1,350 yard / 12 TD season. Money.

You can always count on Bowe to light it up late in a game where KC is getting blown out, so if I am a Bowe owner, I am praying for the Chiefs to get shellacked and then waiting for all of the garbage time yards and scores.

Pretty sure Divine Intervention is not needed

I know it seems as though Bowe is particularly effective late in games when KC is getting severly beat down. From watching a few of the KC games this year however I think Bowe is going to be valuable no matter what. Cassel is so locked into him it's ridiculous. He's getting a ton of targets and making a great deal of plays even before they are getting waxed. Bowe is a diamond in the rough this year for fantasy owners who paid a WR2 or WR3 price IMO. He will be rather studly all year long.

My concern with this is that Cassel may get pulled if they don't start winning games. Bowe has always been much better with Cassel than without. Not sure how well things are going to turn out with Brady Quinn throwing the ball.

Who on the roster would Cassel get pulled for(?) and give a good reason why he should start over Cassel.

Bowe was hurt last year by the loss of Charles, as much as the loss of Cassel, in my opinion. The offense simply didn't score TDs, and that hurt Bowe. He did get solid yardage and catch totals, however.

Probably. I am still just annoyed at that Denver/KC game two years ago where the Broncos destroyed the Chiefs, and then I lost a game because Bowe put up 13-186-2, most of which came in garbage time. I rarely irrationally complain about losing a FF game, because #### happens, but that was just really annoying.

Dood has been like this for year.

Look at his first half stat lines and its always around 2-30 or lower, then go nutso in 4th qtr cause Cheifs suck

A terrible guy to be playing against. He is good for 80 and a TD every 4th quarter when the other team takes their foot off the gas.
