Dwayne Bowe (1 Viewer)

I have been faithful to Bowe because I respect his talent and his targets. However I am starting to think he is no longer a lock as a #2 and can be benched for a #3 type of player with matchup upside (A. Bryant, K. Walter, G. Camarillo etc). I am curious to see how many folks have been remaining faithful and does he rank as a must-start #2 WR for you.

Thanks

Personally, regardless of QB situation, I see him as an every week start and average WR2 to very strong WR3 unless you've got an extremely deep corps.

Unless something changes, I would never bench him for the guys you mentioned.

Marshall is my number one, then I have Calvin Johnson, Cotchery and Bowe.

Most weeks, despite fewer targets I am just more sure of Favres ability to find JC than I am Bowe and his QB du jour.

But--based on targets, he is a great bye week start and when the matchup favors. Same with Megatron.

Bottom line---it's nice to have choices.

 Good WR core.

I'm in a start 3 WR redraft and have:

1 - Santana Moss

2 - Jericco Cotchery

3 - D. Bowe

Bench - Breaston, Reggie Brown and Bobby Engram

My bench only plays as bye week or injury replacements.

Thank, I know...and if we had a flex position and no mandatory tight end I could roll three of them and really be living large...but, two guys sit. Upside is they all get points---butt who to playis more of a decision than I have had to wrangle with some years. Not that I am complaining. :loco:

Bowe is #3 on my team behind Steve Smith and Colston, in a limited roster league where we can flex between one and three. With the targets he gets and the upcoming schedule I figure he's worth playing on occasion--especially since they didn't deal Gonzo or LJ.

Bowe has been steady for me, he was my #2 WR for a while but now Braylon has awaken a bit and I made a huge trade he is my WR#5. I'm stacked at WR in a 12-team, 10 years running league so my team might not be the best example. I think Bowe is solid and will finish top 15-20 making him a WR#2.

Wayne

B. Edwards

Berrian

Bowe

Boldin

is how it currently stands, once Boldin is back I'll look to make a trade, funny thing is my gut almost want me to hold on to Bowe instead of Berrian for my WR#4 although he hasn't exploded.

It is tough for me to start him because of the iffy QB play and the other WR on my roster, he probably plays if the matchup is right. I have played him a couple times but never when he has scored

Andre Johnson

Calvin Johnson

Santonio Holmes

Dwayne Bowe

Mushin Muhammed

I am pretty deep at WR but I play in a league that has lots of flexes (PPR)

Wayne

Smith

Colsten

R Moss

TJ

Bowe

As you can expect my #1 RB is not a stud as I went WR, WR, WR for Chris Johnson is my starter after I traded away Forte a few weeks ago to get Smith and Colsten (before anyone outside of FBG knew if he was coming back).

PPR league, start 2 WR and 1 WR/RB flex

WR1 Greg Jennings

WR2 Dwayne Bowe

Bench

WR3 Marvin Harrison

WR4 Vincent Jackson

I always start RB at flex b/c i have Portis/Lynch/MoJo/M. Pittman to choose from.

I'm pretty deep in the league I have him (12 tm, no ppr, start 3 w/no flex, bonuses for longer tds).

TO

Calvin J

Roddy W

Bowe

K Walter

R Brown

The first few games, he started for me every week. Roddy White's play has pretty much demanded he be started every week though (his bye this week being the exception). so Bowe looks to be the odd man out at this point. Tried moving him & got virtually no interest. One guy even went so far as to call him "garbage." I pointed out that he's in the top 24 in the league in pts per game, he countered with "yea, but his QB sux & the Chiefs sux, so he's worthless." Hard to argue with sound logic like that. :own3d: Especially from a guy who's top 2 WRs are S Holmes & Des Jackson. :X

I still like him going forward. While he has yet to post a "big" game, he has been more consistant than either TO or Megatron. Both of them have a pair of scores lower than Bowe's worst game of the year. If KC can develop a little consistancy at the QB position, he could become even more valuable IMO.

As a (former) owner of both Bowe and Walter, I would probably always start Bowe over Walter if I had to choose. And I'm a big fan of Walter.

Due to the loss of Brady, I was able to trade Bowe, Ocho Cinqo and Cassel to get McNabb, Muhammed and Berrian. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.

But you should start Bowe or trade him.

 KC will pass a lot in the coming weeks, they seemingly can't run the ball consistently.

I think he is a low end #2. He is super consistent. I mean Bowe has 4 or more catches in every game this year and his two games he had 40 some yards (his lows) he scored in both them games. So he really gives you decent points every week even in a terrible situation. Just lucky for Bowe that Gonzo will be there the rest of this year cause if Gonzo was traded he would be the focus and numbers would be hard to come by as the defense would be all over him more then they are now.

In a 12 team PPR office money league where we start 4-6 WRS (2 RB/WR flex) I'm sitting on:

Marshall (traded for him wk1)

Cal Johnson

Boldin/Breaston

Bowe

Big fan of Bowe as a 4.. or even 3. He's a serviceable WR2 in 12 team leagues.

same here, sort of. 16 team PPR redraft. I went rb-rb. Thought some other wr's would be there in the 3rd but they weren't so I went Bowe. I got a few other wr's that have done well. Drafted Royal and traded for Desean Jackson.

long time KC fan....something tells me KC is going to come out and play a little more aggressive after this bye week.....Croyle is back and has a bigger arm, I think they start chucking it more and down field more so I am hanging on to Bowe....I know his stats seem to be better when Huard is in, but what does KC have to lose at this point...open it up, go hurry up, whatever....would like to see them mix it up a little....

Jennings

Calvin Johnson

Bowe

BENCH

Vincent Jackson

Muhammad

If Chambers misses again this week, Jackson gets the call. Otherwise, Bowe gets the start. He is simply the best offensive threat on the team meaning he gets plenty of plays designed for him. It's like Matt Forte - he is the offense. You have to start him week in and week out. (Just wish Bowe had a slightly better QB pulling the trigger - it would make it a lot easier to not second guess myself every Sunday before kickoff :goodposting: )

Bowe's a risky play this week with Croyle coming back - being rusty, timing issues - plus facing a real good defense. I'm not sure I'd want Bowe as my WR2. Note - mulitple Bowe owner here.

I see Bowe as a great physical talent - he has all the tools to be a great WR. He just needs a QB around him to help him step up. B Croyle, D Huard & T Thigpen do not qualify as starting caliber QB in the NFL IMO.

Bowe is a solid WR2 in most formats. In my 12 team league, we start 2 RB, 3 WR & 2 Flex. Since I can start 5 WR in the 0.5 ppr league, he is always in my starting line-up.... sometimes as WR4, but he is there.

My WR corp:

Plex Burress

J Cotchery

L Evans

D Bowe

V Jackson

K Walter

T Holt

G Camarillo

S McDonald (just picked up off WW since Roy is now in Dallas & Calvin has a concussion).

Yeah, T Holt has sat on my bench some too, but that is a different thread!

Thanks for the responses everyone. Like allot of other folks Bowe is behind Plax and Cotch for me. From what I see here most seem to be in agreement that he is a must-start for a WR#3.

His my 3rd WR after Marshall and Witten (no mandatory TE).. and ahead of Vincent Jackson and I. Bruce.

Though he might be inline for a promotion if Brad Johnson is garbage.

I'm probably gonna start Vjax ahead of him this week w/ Tenn being really tough and Croyle being.... Croyle.
