Dyansty League Tips? (1 Viewer)

I run an auction keeper league. How we keep players is based off a freelance article I read on here a long time ago:

FP/G average is multiplied by 15 to give a full 15 game season total. 12% of that is their keeper value. You can keep as many players as you want, but if you keep more than 1 the total must be under 40. We then have an auction draft at the start of each year

I was thinking of making it into a dynasty league starting this year (next year would be our first rookie draft).

I have some questions though:

- How many bench spots should we have? Currently we start 9 total and have 6 on the bench. Should I expand it by 3?

- How many rounds of a rookie draft should we have?

- Before the season there is a rookie draft, but how does one fit those rookies on his/her team- do they drop other people already on their roster, do they drop rookies from last year who may not have made the cut?

- Has anyone tried a rookie auction draft for a dynasty league

- I know some of my league members won't like switching because they like being able to get new players every year, what do I say in response? I don't want to trick them into doing something they don't want to or something they may lose interest in, so I'm curious what others have encountered from league members and how to respond

Thanks for the help

I prefer the dynasty format. Take a look under the reports tab for rules for the two leagues above and you will find how two different leagues handle the questions you ask. I think you need more roster spots in dynasty because much of the fun of dynasty is developing young talent who may not be startable in a redraft format but could be in 2 years. 24 to 25 spots is a good #.

In general auctions are more fun and challenging. So go for it. As to your other owners live and let live.... some wont like any major change others will prefer redraft. Expecting all to buy into it may not be realistic. I'd suggest you join a dynasty league looking for a new owner so that way you will have experience in the format and then know if it fits for you. You'll have an easier job selling it if you like it.
