Arif does some nice work on these.

Getting some teaser articles out there right now but I don't think he has released the big board yet.

It will be very similar to miqws list posted awhile back in the thread, but perhaps more sources.

I used to do this every year myself but since I found Arif who has access to more boards than I do, I have just been using his for the last few years. It does seem to come out later every year though.

There are certain people/sites/scouts who are wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy off then there’s a few who do a really good job. Those. Are the one the ones I will compare my board to. When mine doesn’t match I go back and figure out what I missed.

What is interesting about these lists is that the consensus list is usually more accurate than the majority of them by themselves, with exception of a few that do better than the consensus list.

Also, that sent me down a rabbit hole that ended with me finding out that Keenan Allen has an interception in his career.

 
Dan Patrick passes along word from one NFL scout saying the Browns are deciding between Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield and Wyoming QB Josh Allen at the top of the draft.

This is noteworthy since Sam Darnold's name is not even mentioned. Scot McCloughan has been involved in the Browns draft process, and during his media stint stated Mayfield was his top ranked quarterback in this class. Allen's name has been gaining traction at No. 1 overall, although Peter King cited a different source stating Allen would not be the pick for the Browns at No. 1. Buckle up.

An NFL scout told Bob McGinn Football that Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph reminds him of Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan.

"He’s calm, cool, collected, accurate," the scout noted of Rudolph. He vehemently dismissed any notion that the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder had anything in common with Brandon Weedon outside of the school in which both played their college ball. If that Ryan comp is a bit too lofty, another evaluator who spoke with McGinn Football saw some similarities with Kirk Cousins, which feels more in the ballpark to us. Said that particular scout, "He’s not going to take everybody to the next level but he’s going to do the right thing and be a game manager." There's been recent buzz that the Patriots might be interested in Rudolph. They've been linked to several quarterbacks beyond the Oklahoma State signal-caller, too, with Lamar Jackson and Josh Rosen both batted around in rumor as potential picks for HC Bill Belichick and staff. At this juncture, we would be surprised if New England did not draft a quarterback relatively early when festivities boot up in Dallas later this week.

An NFL scout told Bob McGinn Football that he would select Washington State QB Luke Falk over Louisville QB Lamar Jackson "any day."

Most detractors of Jackson's game would probably admit that this is an off-the-beaten trail opinion. Falk just isn't a quarterback who has sparked all that much for us during the predraft evaluating process. Among the other scouts who spoke with McGuinn regarding the Washington State signal-caller, one evaluator said that he was "nothing special" while another said that he could potentially develop into a "10-year backup."

FanRag Sports draft analyst Joe Ledyard hears that Penn State WR DaeSean Hamilton won't get out of the third round on Friday.

Ledyard reports that Hamilton (6'1/203) could go as early as the second round, with the Falcons, Patriots, Cowboys, Ravens and Panthers showing interest in the wideout. If he does make it out of the second round, Ledyard believes there's no way he's out of the third, as a source tells him that either the Colts, Jets or Packers will secure his services. At one point this was a mid Day 3 selection. Now he could be off the board in the first 50 picks.

FanRag sports draft analyst Joe Ledyard hears the NC State RB Nyheim Hines is likely to go in the first 75 picks.

Hines has often been mentioned as one of the most underrated prospects in this class. If he goes in the range that Ledyard suggests, it'll be tough to call him underrated. He tweets that teams like the Cowboys (pick 50) and Bengals (pick 46) are considering the former Wolfpack runner, and that the the Vikings and Chargers have shown interest in the first three rounds as well. Hines would be pairing with a quality running back in all of these situations, and we think that might be Hines' best role. We are intrigued.

This late rise for Russell Gage and Chris Herndon is absurd. Neither did anything of note in college, in Gage’s case he’s an average athlete and in Herndon’s case we don’t even know what kind of athlete he is. 

 
One anonymous NFL scout believes UCF WR Tre'Quan Smith "may have" been the best blocking wide receiver he saw in this class.

"He started off a little slow but he’s not a sleeper anymore," said the scout. "He ran like a scalded dog. He’ll catch in the middle and he will block. He may have been the best blocking wide receiver I saw. He’ll be there in the third day because nobody’s talking about him but will end up being a good, solid player." The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Smith has been compared to Tennessee Titans WR Taejae Sharpe by NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "Strong, physical," a second scout said. "He’s a windup speed guy. Excellent downfield blocker. They used him more as a possession receiver. He was not the primary. No. 5 (Dredrick Snelson) was. He’s a nice project." Smith tested in the 64th percentile of NFL wideouts during the pre-Draft process.

Fanrag's Jon Ledyard reports that he's hearing that Miami TE Chris Herndon has a "chance to go in Round 3."

As most do, Ledyard expects Dallas Goedert, Mike Gesicki and Hayden Hurst to be first three tight ends off board, probably followed by Ian Thomas. But he's been hearing late steam on Herndon as a potential late Day 2 pick. "Teams love his versatility/upside and he cleared medical re-checks in Indy," Ledyard tweeted. The analyst specifically tossed out the Ravens and Eagles as potential suitors. Herndon visited both the Ravens and Eagles during his pre-Draft process, so both make plenty of sense as potential destinations.

An anonymous scout told Bob McGinn Football that Miami (FL) RB Mark Walton should have stayed in school.

"He should have stayed in school," the scout said. "He’s not very good. Just kind of a one-speed guy and gets tackled easily. No elusiveness." Yikes. McGinn did get another quality report from another anonymous scout, saying that Walton has a "PHD in football" and that he's "explosive." Walton (5'10/202) appears to be one of the more divisive backs in this class. He could go anywhere from the end of the third to the end of Day 3.

FanRag Sports draft analyst Jon Ledyard tweets that he wouldn't be surprised if Oklahoma TE Mark Andrews went outside the top 100 picks.

Andrews (6'5/256) had some first-round hype in the winter, but that was always silly; he's not near athletic enough at that position to be a top 32 pick. Ledyard notes that teams are concerned about the former Sooner's athleticism, and there's likely concerns about the fact that Lincoln Riley's offense makes everyone look good. That's not say Andrews is a bad prospect -- on the contrary -- but he makes much more sense as an early Day 3 pick than one who goes on the first day or early on Day 2.

An anonymous scout told Bob McGinn Football that Tennessee RB John Kelly was "totally underutilized" in his time at Tennessee.

The full quote: "He was totally underutilized at Tennessee. He’s a good little player." Another scout believes that Kelly (5'9/216) "runs like a big back" but notes that players who run like big backs who aren't tend to get hurt. The Volunteer tailback appears to be picking up some steam as we get closer to the draft, and he could go early on Day 3.

A talented player teams have been doing homework on is #Florida WR Antonio Callaway. Through his agent, Callaway confirmed his drug test sample at the NFL Combine came back diluted. Callaway has told those close to him he was over-hydrated and will address the issue with teams.

 
I doubt Callaway gets drafted and if that’s the case you really have to wonder how much of an opportunity teams will give him moving forward.

 
Former Florida WR Antonio Callaway -- who some considered as talented as any WR in this draft -- tested positive for marijuana at the combine, NFL sources told ESPN.

Callaway’s new agent Malki Kawa said it was for a diluted sample. Callaway hired Kawa about two weeks ago.

 
An anonymous scout noted that he "doesn't know what to do with North Carolina State TE/RB Jaylen Samuels.

"I don’t know what to do with him," the scout told Bob McGinn Football. "He was an H-back there. He’s a wildcat quarterback, a fullback and a slot, too. One speed, no burst. Probably best as a receiver. Excellent hands." Samuels has been lauded for his versatility this entire draft process, but the 5-foot-11, 229-pound hybrid player may be a 'tweener -- too slow to play running back, too small to play tight end, not a good enough blocker to play fullback. Some team will bank on finding a way to use Samuels, however, and he should go late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.

Numerous anonymous scouts told Bob McGinn football that Clemson WR Deon Cain is a "straight line" receiver.

Here's one of them: . "He’s a straight-line vertical type receiver if you want to categorize him as something," said one scout. "He has some potential. Obviously, he would have been better served to have come back for another year. His value will be depressed. Probably about a third-rounder. He’d go higher next year. He can run and push the top off a defense. He’s a legitimate flyer." Others have more confidence in Cain's ability to run routes than this, but it's certainly not his strength. Expect Cain to go late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.

What a ####### dope.  Hope he blew his final chance, he’s certainly had enough of them.

"He’s not a tester but he is a good player," the scout said. "He’s not going to run away from you or out-size you. But somehow, some way he gets open and he catches the ball. As far as I know, that’s how you play wide receiver. He was one of the better guys at the Senior Bowl. He really knows how to play." Hamilton (6'1/203) has become a bit of a darling of draft analysts this winter, and his stock continues to rise. It shouldn't shock anyone if he's taken in the first two rounds, maybe even the first 50 picks.

An anonymous scout told Bob McGinn Football that South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst reminds him of Greg Olsen.

"He’ll be 25 starting this year (Aug. 24)," the scout said. "You’ll get seven years out of him. You get seven years out of somebody, that’s a pretty good player. Reminds me of Greg Olsen. He’s quicker and more maneuverable than (Mike) Gesicki." The biggest concern for scouts seems to be that age -- Hurst was a minor league pitcher for the Pirates before enrolling at South Carolina -- but the lack of projection can be both a blessing and a strength, particularly when it comes to his blocking. Hurt will go in the first two rounds, and there's a real chance he'll be the first tight end off the board.
