[Dynasty] 2019 NFL Draft Class (1 Viewer)

posted this in the Dynasty Value thread but thought I'd ask here as well...

What is next year's rookie class looking like in terms of offensive skill position players?

Any Barkley/Gurley or Julio/AJG types coming out?

Trying to judge the value of next year's 1.1 or 1.2 to a guy like Guice (yes, a not-so-veiled trade offer question :) )

Arizona State junior WR N'Keal Harry caught eight passes for 91 yards in Thursday's 20-13 loss to Stanford.

Harry (6'4/213) led the Sun Devils in receiving on Thursday evening, with his long grab going for 28 yards. He has now caught at least five passes in every game this season save for one in which he had to leave injured (versus Colorado in Week 6). On the whole, the junior wideout has been consistent-but-unspectacular this season, with five games over 80 yards in seven contests, but just one of those five going for more than 100 yards receiving. It all works out to a 42-572-5 receiving line through the first seven games of the campaign. USC shows next on the Sun Devils' docket.

I don't see any RB even remotely close to their level. Sucks because of Bell, Went and Ingram, it looks like I am a shoo in for the #1 pick.

WR, its hard to say. Sure seems at least a few teams are strictly looking for the fastest guys they can find. I mean look at Lindsey, Cohen, Tyreek Hill and anyone the 49ers put out on the field. All little fast guys. I always said that size didn't matter as far as carrying the load. CHI & DEN is proving that with Cohen.

David Montgomery, Damien Harris, Miles Sanders plus a few other risers are all RB's that could be close to Guice's level as prospects by the time the season is done.

You're correct in that, unless you need a WR, this isn't the year to be chasing the 1.1... there's no Barkley, Zeke, Fournette, Gurley, etc.. but there are still NFL starters and potential NFL studs in this draft.

Montgomery has vision but from what I read he will run a 4.55 best at the combine.

Justice Hill sure looks bigger than the 190 lbs they have him at on ESPN. If so, he could be something.

Ole Miss junior WR A.J. Brown brought in 10 passes for 155 yards and a score in a 31-16 loss to Auburn on Saturday.

When Jordan Ta'amu targetted Brown, good things happened. Unfortunately, his only score of the game came when the Rebels were down 31-9. Still, it's the fifth score of the year for the 6-foot-1, 225-pound wideout, and he's had nine or more catches in three of his last four games. The probable first-round pick will take on South Carolina on November 3.

Buffalo redshirt senior WR Anthony Johnson caught four passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 31-17 win over Toledo.

He's baaaaccccckkkk! Jackson has struggled with a hamstring injury over the past month, an injury that forced him to miss one game and had him limited in another. Johnson (6'2/210) was reported to be nearing 100% prior to the game and then went out and showed that to be the case. He is a prime NFL prospect.

Pro Football Focus has given Mississippi State junior DT Jeffery Simmons a 91.0 grade on the year.

One of the reasons Simmons (6'4/300) has such a high grade -- other than the fact that he's really good at football -- is that he's been dominant against the run. He has made nine defensive stops this year; in large part because he's so difficult to double-team and quick off the football. There are off-the-field issues that Simmons will have to overcome -- for lack of a better term -- but the talent is here for him to be one of the highest drafted defensive tackles in the class.

Buffalo redshirt senior WR Anthony Johnson was named the Reese's Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week for his effort on Saturday against Toledo.

Johnson was back to his old tricks on Saturday, picking up two touchdowns on four catches in the 31-17 victory over the Rockets. The talented wideout has battled hamstring issues for the past month, but the 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver has obvious talent. "Tools-wise, one of his best assets is his good functional playing strength," wrote Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy. "He is strong running thru (sic) contact and he is hard for defensive backs to get on the ground without help." Johnson is going to need to show he's fully healthy, but his production is tough to ignore. He has a chance to be one of the highest drafted seniors at the position.

The Draft Network's Tevor Sikkema believes that North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick could be a fit for the Raiders in 2019.

Stick is compared to Jeff Garcia by Sikkema, and that's a quarterback who had some success in the Gruden offense. "He’s not one to take major risks and instead understands where to go with the ball to move it down the field," he writes. "Stick is a winner, he’s won over 40 games in college with only three losses, and I imagine that kind of cheesy crap will still mean a lot to Gruden." 'Cheese crap' aside, Stick is seen as a legit prospect, and if he tests well/performs in a senior event, he could see his stock shoot up draft boards.

I do like Elijah 'New Deal' Holyfield at RB.  He's got size & speed. They don't throw to the RB much but he shows his hands at 1:43 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9KOsUTXAys I checked his long run vs Swift and neither has a real long run so the OL must blow run blocking. He's got real quick feet.

Odds are he comes out because Swift will take carries away next year of he stays.

I think it's interesting that Swift is considered one of those uber backs that will make the 2020 class amazing but his 2019 eligible teammate who's handily outplaying him (even after Swift has healed up) is barely even considered a factor in a weak RB draft class.

DLF had him the #1 ranked 2019 RB 2 years ago. Last year he was still #1, but he has sunk down since. I don't remember seeing him on the field much with Chubb and Michel on the team, so people forgot he was a good prospect.

Iowa State junior RB David Montgomery forced 11 missed tackles in Saturday's game against Texas Tech.

Montgomery also recorded 82 of his 127 total rushing yards after contact. He is in the conversation to be the first running back off the board in the 2019 draft and it's well-deserved. Montgomery almost never goes down on first contact and is powerful yet elusive as a runner. Strong athletic testing at the combine could make his draft stock skyrocket into the top half of the first round.

He reminds me a little of Kareem Hunt in style.

Per Pro Football Focus, Nebraska senior WR Stanley Morgan caught 7-of-10 targets including two touchdowns and three first downs in Saturday's game against Bethune-Cookman.

34 of his 82 total yards in this one came after the catch as Morgan has proven to be a versatile wideout. He has been on fire as of late, scoring two touchdowns in his second straight game. He will have one of his toughest matchups of the season against Ohio State next week.

Per Pro Football Focus, FAU junior RB Devin Singletary forced 14 missed tackles and has 146 yards after contact against Louisiana Tech last Friday.

85 percent of Singletary's (5'9/201) rushing yardage came after contact, so he's getting no help from his offensive line and coaching staff. Since he carried the ball just 17 times, Singletary nearly averaged a missed tackle every carry while averaging 7.3 yards after contact per carry. Despite doing everything himself, Singletary still has 100+ rushing yards in three-of-four games. Singletary will likely head to the NFL after this season.
