[Dynasty] 2020 NFL Draft Class (3 Viewers)

Arizona State senior WR Brandon Aiyuk secured five catches for 67 yards in a 24-14 victory on Saturday over Arizona.

Aiyuk also added six rushing yards on a single attempt. This is a decent game, but it's actually one of the worst statistical outings for the 6-foot-1, 206-pound wideout for the year. In fact, it's the just the second time he's been held below 75 yards since October, and it ends his three-game scoreless streak. Still, it's been an outstanding season for Aiyuk, and he'll get one more chance to add to his impressive numbers in a bowl game; if he so chooses.

Arizona State junior RB Eno Benjamin ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-14 win over Arizona on Saturday.

Benjamin (5'10/216) was the difference maker in this one, and he helps Arizona State win their third straight Territorial game. He also added three catches for 14 yards, but it was his work on the ground that flummoxed the Arizona defense all year. This could very well be Benjamin's final game as a Sun Devil; as he can enter the draft and Arizona State will not be playing a meaningful bowl game. If he does give up his senior year, he'll be one of the more intriguing tailbacks in the 2020 class.

Oklahoma State redshirt sophomore RB Chuba Hubbard rushed 24 times for 104 yards and a touchdown in a 34-16 loss to Oklahoma this Saturday.

Hubbard (6'1/207) did the best he could, but the Oklahoma State passing game simply couldn't crack the Oklahoma secondary as OU racked up 450 total yards to OSU's 335. He finishes the regular season with a FBS leading 1,936 yards and 21 touchdowns. Hubbard is the latest in a long, illustrious line of great Oklahoma State running backs and is a virtual lock for All-American status. OSU finishes the regular season at 8-4 and will have the honor of playing in a post-season bowl.

UCF senior RB Adrian Killins Jr. accepted his invitation to play in the 2020 East/West Shrine Bowl.

Killins Jr. (5'8"/164) has played in every game for UCF since 2016 as a versatile change-of-pace and third-down back. He has rushed 87 times for 629 yards, a 7.2 YPC and seven touchdowns this season, while rushing for 2,459 and 33 touchdowns over his career for the Golden Knights. Killins Jr. is viewed as a scat-back type for NFL Draft purposes whose upside is limited by his diminutive stature. His best-case scenario is to carve out a Danny Woodhead-like role as a passing-down specialist.

Washington State redshirt senior QB Anthony Gordon accepted his invitation to play in the 2020 Reese's Senior Bowl.

Gordon (6'3/210) is the latest Mike Leach QB to light up FBS scoreboards, throwing for 5,228 yards, 72% completion percentage and 45 touchdowns this year in the Wazzou air-raid offense. He also became one of only 16 FBS QB's in college football history to throw for 5,000 yards in a single-season. Gordon's virtuoso performance significantly raised his NFL Draft profile much like his predecessor Garner Mineshew did last year. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the 36th round of the 2015 draft, so he's got a multi-sport pedigree and bonafide arm. He is being mentioned in the third-to-fifth round range and will be closely monitored in the post-season evaluation process.

LSU TE/WR Stephen Sullivan has accepted his invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Sullivan (6'7/232) caught 11 passes for 121 yards even though he hasn't recorded a reception since October 19th. He was more active in 2018, catching 23 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns. Sullivan is a huge target who has flexed between wide receiver and tight end in his LSU tenure and has above-average athleticism, especially at tight end. He also was extended an invitation to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Sullivan could slide into Day 3 consideration with a good performance at the Senior Bowl practices.

TCU RB Darius Anderson has accepted an invitation to play in the 2020 Reese's Senior Bowl.

Anderson (5'11/212) exploded out of the gate in 2019, rushing 64 times for 504 yards and six touchdowns in his first four full games of the year. He would manage only 291 more yards and zero touchdowns in the remaining seven games as he took a backseat to Sewo Olonilua in the TCU backfield rotation. Anderson lacks the build to be a feature running back at the next level and doesn't project well as a goal-line option, but he could carve out a role as a chang of pace running back in the NFL.

Oregon State WR Isaiah Hodgins has announced that he will declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Hodgins (6'4/209) was an absolute force on the outside for Oregon State catching 86 passes for 1,171 yards and 13 touchdowns. His yardage total was good for ninth most in FBS while his 86 receptions was tied for sixth most in the nation. Hodgins really came into his own as an all-around aerial weapon for Beavers QB Jake Luton and has put himself on the map as an NFL draft prospect. He was graded by Tony Pauline as a UDFA in the summer but Hodgins is now being projected as a potential third-to-fourth round selection.

Tennessee senior TE Dominick Wood-Anderson has accepted his invitation to play in the East/West Shrine Bowl.

Wood-Anderson (6'4/257) was limited by and undisclosed injury early on, but was healthy enough to catch three or more passes in three-of-his-last-four games to close out the season on a high-note. Given his athleticism there was hope that Wood-Anderson would be a featured part of the Vols offense, but nagging injuries derailed his momentum until November. He is considered a solid blocker with good size and an above-average catch radius. Wood-Anderson hopes the Shrine Bowl practices can increase his profile, as he attempts to become the first UT TE drafted since Mychal Rivera was selected by the Raiders in 2013.

UCF junior WR Gabriel Davis declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Davis (6'3/214) just turned in the best season of his career, having caught 72 passes for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall. For the next level, the wideout profiles as a lanky deep threat. We'll be interested to see how he tests out on the speed and agility fronts come the spring, but he plays with a stellar physicality and should be in range for a potential Day 2 selection assuming he doesn't put on a parachute during the 40-yard dash.

LSU redshirt senior QB Joe Burrow has been named the 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner, which is awarded to the best senior or fourth-year quarterback in the country.

Though LSU has a storied football program, Burrow (6'4/216) is the first winner of the Golden Arm award in school history. Burrow has thrown 44 touchdowns to just six interceptions this year while carrying LSU to a likely playoff spot. Burrow beat out others such as Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts and Oregon's Justin Herbert for the prestigious award.

In his latest mock draft, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller pegged Michigan junior WR Donovan Peoples-Jones to the Buffalo Bills with the No. 26 overall pick.

"A 6'2", 215-pounder with power after the catch and an ability to win as a vertical threat, plus an excellent jump-ball player in the red zone, Peoples-Jones will open up the entire Buffalo passing game," Miller writes. The analyst also addresses DPJ's lack of college production, noting that "scouts will look at the quarterback talent he was working with in college and understand that his best football is ahead of him." While we understand Miller's argument, here, color us weary on Peoples-Jones as a first-rounder. It's a dangerous game to gamble on players who lack a real body of work, and that goes doubly so in a loaded receivers class.

Maryland junior RB Javon Leake declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Leake (6'0/206) has been a big play waiting to happen throughout his Maryland career, averaging 7.9 YPC during his three years with the program. The speedster is an adept special teams weapon, too, having just been named Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year after racking up 799 yards (26.6 yards per return) this fall. While Leake is somewhat off the draft radar at this juncture, we would not be surprised if he found his share of fans over the coming months as he works to try to gain a foothold told a Day 3 selection. On the Maryland side of things, the Terps have now lost their top two backs, as Anthony McFarland threw his hat into the draft ring on Tuesday.

UCF WR Gabriel Davis said that he plans on playing in the team's bowl game "as of right now."

Davis (6'3/214) declared for the NFL Draft on Wednesday morning. You can reasonably expect a handful of notable draft-bound players to sit out their respective bowl games in the coming weeks. While there are still some stuffy football pundits out there who like to make a stink over sit outs, it's a part of the landscape at this point.

Lamb will be part of my top 5 for sure. Just not sure who’d get bumped out yet.

We’ll see how the NFL draft shakes out. There’s no Big 3 this year more like 5 or 6 in the same tier but 2nd tier is close behind.

Oklahoma senior QB Jalen Hurts was given the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Award.

It should come as no surprise that Hurts (6'2/218) is bringing in the hardware considering the season he had. Not only has Hurts thrown 31 touchdowns to just six interceptions, he has also rushed for a whopping 18 touchdowns, which ranks second among FBS QBs. Only Navy's Malcolm Perry (19) ran for more touchdowns, but that option system is designed specifically for that to be the case.

I know several people on here do their own evals on college prospects but does anyone have recommendations on talent evaluators who are particularly good (e.g. Dane Brugler etc.)? I used to watch a ton of CFB but these days I only really watch LSU and a bit of SEC play. I’ve used Waldman’s RSP before but I’m looking for alternative sources.

Michigan senior QB Shea Patterson accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Patterson (6'2/202) threw for 22 touchdowns against six interceptions while leading the Wolverines to a 9-3 record. There were flashes of brilliance from the former five-star recruit/Ole Miss transfer, but there were just as many moments of head-scratching play; "highlighted" by his awful second half against Ohio State last Saturday. Once considered a potential first-round pick, Patterson is going to need a strong showing in this contest -- and the Senior Bowl if he's fortunate enough to get an invite -- if he's going to even be a candidate for Day 3.

Georgia Southern redshirt junior K Tyler Bass accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Bass (5-10/185) is considered one of the top kickers in the country, hitting on 51-of-65 career field goals and missing just one extra-point in his time with the Eagles. He wasn't quite as good this year, however, going 17-of-25 on his kicks and missing on 8-of-14 tries outside of 40 yards. Still, he definitely has an NFL leg, and he'll look to show it in Mobile near the end of January.

I do my own as well but there are certain 2 devy guys I take of note of and then a bunch of others I try to see their views on players.  

Fusue Vue (Xue who use to be on this forum) usually has some good takes, I don’t particularly agree a lot of the time but his conviction is nice 

Ryan Lopes who’s heavy into devy so I’m usually way behind his info but has a formed opinion over years of eval’s put together

Along with those 2 devy guys I take opinions from many but I usually only do that after I’ve formed my own opinions, McShay is good, Matt Kelly has controversy but it’s well thought out, and since it’s 5 am for me right now I’m drawing a blank on the NFL Network guy who does their prospect portion.

North Texas senior QB Mason Fine accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Fine (5'11/190) put together a beautiful run while at UNT, topping 3,000 yards passing in each of the last three seasons while finishing up his career with a 93/34 TD/INT over the course of four years with the program. As the Mean Green finished with just four wins in 2020, Fine is now free to begin his draft prep in earnest. As a prospect, Fine is a rhythm thrower who does his best work in the short-to-intermediate range, but is limited in terms of his arm strength and can have a tendency to struggle without a clean pocket. He will be scrapping it out to garner a late Day 3 selection come April.

I think there some WRs in this class who have the potential to approach similar value to these guys, but I don't think any of them are thought of as prospects in the same terms of physical freakishness + college production as say Julio or Calvin. Jeudy, for example, is a technician and his movement is special, but he's not especially strong and has a somewhat skinny build. Reagor may blow up the combine but due to the offense and QB play we don't know as much about his production. I kind of think of Green as the closest parallel to Jeudy -- someone we've been focused on for years and who is an elite technician but lanky. 

Even if these WRs don't measure up to Calvin or Julio as prospects, I don't really see that as a huge deal. Some of these guys are going to go early and draft capital, combined with their talent, can really matter in dynasty. Plus, they don't need to be Julio/Calvin/Green to be elite WR1s; the top guys come in with skill sets that, in my opinion, translate well to top fantasy production. I'm no less excited about this class because it (presumably) lacks "generational" or "once every 5-10 year" players (tropes that I keep seeing on dynasty boards).
