Brent Celek, TE, Eagles.LJ Smith can't stay healthy, and is a FA this year. Celek has looked pretty good, especially for an under-the-radar rookie TE. He's not flashy, but seems to be able to get open and has dragged a tackler along a couple of times.

When LJ Smith was hurt early in the year I was excited about Celek's opportunity but he disappointed me. It's not like Schobel really stepped in and blocked his progress either. Both had a golden opportunity to contribute and really didn't do much. He's also supposed to be an "Andy Reid guy" but do we really know Reids long term future with the team given his tumultuous year and the fact PHI is getting close to a rebuild mode? I really like the Eagles(and Reid/Johnson) but they are going to need to start replacing a lot of veterans that play a vital role on that team right now.

i can't think of one rookie that made an impact on reids offense other then maybe buckhalter late in the season. and maybe mcnabb and reggie brown if you think what they did as rookies made an impact. have patience with celek. reid just does not trust rookies and brings them along very slowly. smith will be gone and celek will take over in his 2nd year and start to really make an impact by his 3rd year. if this guy is a player, and he seems to be, that would be my guess how it plays out with celek.
