Dynasty: Jaguars WR Devin Smith (1 Viewer)

This seems like an excellent pre-emptive pickup to me.  Like if you had grabbed Demarcus Robinson before Sundays game.  Playing against a terrible secondary, where the only competent DB (Xavien Howard) will probably shadow Cooper all day, Smith should roam free in the depths of that backfield like Marquise Brown did.  They wont have anyone to match up with that speed, and their defensive gameplan will most definitely suck - so I anticipate an air raid early on for the home fans.  One more long TD is all it will take to make Devin Smith very valuable commodity next week, and he can be had for free right now.  If he sucks this week, it will be really safe to cut him for next week's lottery ticket.

This dude always had a lot of potential, right? I know he was a 2nd rounder a few years ago and also had freakish speed... was it just injuries or did he just never put it together?

Anyways, there could be more here w/ Gallup sidelined, IMO. I'll have to watch the game.

2 torn acl's as a pro

Jets fan here: Devin Smith was a deep ball threat that began his Jets career with a lacerated sternum in some way. Then it was a back. Then his knees went.

He was just never, ever healthy. Maybe his body has settled down or he changed his training regimen. But I wouldn't hold out too much hope for a healthy Devin Smith. He wasn't at OSU, either, IIRC.

Devin Smith caught 2-of-5 targets for 39 yards in the Cowboys' Week 3 win over the Dolphins.

One of Smith's missed connections was an end zone target. There were high DFS hopes for Smith as he filled in for Michael Gallup's field-stretching role, but the Cowboys did not need to push the envelope against the expansion-level Dolphins. Smith will continue to offer intrigue for Week 4 vs. the Saints.

(RotoWire) The Jaguars signed Smith on Friday, John Shipley of SI.com reports. Analysis: The Jaguars are currently dealing with injuries to their top two wideouts -- DJ Chark and Marvin Jones -- and recently had to place Travis Etienne, who was working primarily as a slot receiver, on injured reserve. Smith brings a veteran presence to Jacksonville's ailing receiving corps, but he has only played four games since 2016.

One of my favorite former Buckeyes.  He was McLaurin before McLaurin was McLaurin.  Smith has mad ball skills and catches everything but a break.  Injury did him in before he even got going.
