Travis Kelce + ?? = Julio Jones

The other team has suggested Dez Bryant or Doug Baldwin as equal value to Kelce. So in their mind if Kelce equals Dez or Doug, what do I need to include to get Julio?

Dynasty League, Standard Scoring 4patd, Active roster 26, 8 IR, 8 Taxi

Andrew Luck, Tyrod Taylor, Philip Rivers

Mccoy, Ajayi, Ingram, Doug Martin, Booker, Matt Jones, Damien Williams, Darren Sproles

Amari Cooper, TY Hilton, Keenan Allen, Bruce Ellington, Marquise Lee, Martavis Bryant, Mike Wallace, Robert Woods

Kelce, Ertz

Bryant, hauschka and dolphins, seahawks

IR - Swoope

Taxi - Kenyan drake, jamaal williams, arron jones, jonathan williams, boehringer, pharoh cooper, chad williams

Kelce is way more than enough for Julio in dynasty or in redraft. Just because he is trying to lowball you doesn't mean you have to fall for it. Don't overpay.

Kelce and Robert Woods. If he doesn’t like something like that, then I don’t think he’s looking for anything remotely fair.

If he thinks so little of Kelce then don't trade him to him...  I'm not sure Julio is the guy I would target based on the age/injury combo.  I might see what younger WRs or even QB could be had.

Thanks for the feedback and glad we are on the same page.

However, kelce will be one of the most expensive players in this league next season (due to contract extensions). $165 relative to julio's $105 (although in 2019 julio will cost 150 with an extension, and kelce costing 199...). How important would you say salary is in this type of trade? I tend to value higher end players like this more based on talent and production than salary, but with salary costs that are pushing the upper bounds in this league perhaps it should have more of a role...

Salary considerations and value is based on your roster construction and salary cap space.  If you have the space for the higher salary then it isn't as important where if you are cap strapped and the extra salary prohibits you from acquiring or keeping necessary player then it is huge.  There is no way to know how much of a factor this difference plays because it will be different for both of the team involved.

Knowing Kelce is that much more expensive than Julio explains a little more on where this guy is coming from on his value for Kelce.  That salary seems very high for Kelce when compared to Julio.  I would have expected Julio's salary to be much more than Kelce.  What is the salary cap and what is escalation based on?

Salary cap this season is $1465 and rises each year by ten percent, so 1610 then 1770 in 2019. You can keep players indefinitely as long as you can pay for the salary.

In this league you can extend a player for an additional charge. So at the beginning of the league julio was assigned a much longer contract than kelce. kelce has had his contract extended once already. normally salary rises by 20 percent from season to season, but to extend a player is an additional 20 percent. Kelce is at the end of his contract this season and requires extension creating the large salary cap different. Julio will need an extension in 2019.

The rosters are very deep, and free agency is getting more and more competitive. Some of the notable free agents and their salary costs from this auction are:

Jimmy Graham - 145, Ty montgomery - 199, T hill - 160, Lynch - 192

By comparison rookies at 1.01 start at 45 and decrease dramatically in cost.

I have the salary cap to extend kelce and keep him for a few years. Same for Julio.
