Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Day football coach Pete Walker sized up Kelvin Taylor the moment they met while the youth was touring the private school last year as a seventh-grader.

Now, Taylor – a 5-foot-11, 205-pound eighth-grader  and son of Jacksonville Jaguars All-Pro running back Fred Taylor – is the starting tailback on Walker's varsity team, which is ranked first in the state in Class 1A. Taylor, 14, transferred to Glades Day from West Palm Beach's Jeaga Middle School in January.

Thanks for the heads up Sig. I just traded Eddie Royal and Felix Jones for two 2016 first round picks.

Heck, there is a pretty good chance he might outgrow RB or become the next Brandon Jacobs type that H.K. has an irrational hate for.

How the hell are you 5'11 and 205 pounds in 8th grade? 5'11 ok there are tall dudes... but 205 pounds!!

I'm 23 and I'm sure he would beat the #### out of me.

FYI, Barry Sanders' son is now a freshman in high school. He is cleverly named Barry Sanders, Jr. He plays for one for the private, rich kid schools in oklahoma city.

With the 1st pick in the 2016 draft the Detroit Lions selectOT Kelvin Taylor, FLORIDA
Don't be silly the Lions wouldn't draft a OL that high... and obvious need the last 20 years. They are still throwing George "False Start" Foster out there,

That's almost exactly my size in 8th grade. Of course, I'm slow, white, and can't jump. So I played O Tackle.

Mike Tyson was also about that size at that age (well, maybe 5'7") but never grew much more. Just got tougher.

I went to school with a kid who was like this. 6' and 200+ by ninth grade. He was hitting HRs out of the Legion fields when he was, like, 11 or 12(and probably weighed around 170-180 pounds at the time) and was instantly starting at RB/LB for the varsity team the moment he hit 9th grade(rumor was that the coach tried to get it permitted that 8th graders could play varsity the year prior and failed. Never bought it, myself). Was probably better at baseball than football, actually. Kid just had crazy genetics.Never made it to the NCAA level though, since he was also stereotypically terrible in the "grades" department.

Joe Toledo (former Dolphin) was the same way in HS. 1st kid ever to start on varsity from my HS as a frosh. He was like 6-2 230 as a frosh and ran a 4.7

i read a national story about a pair of brothers a few years ago, when one or both were in college (not sure if one made it to the NFL)... there dad was a local varsity coach, & one of them was playing in FOURTH grade... no later, because reportedly the younger one COULDN'T TIE HIS OWN SHOES YET... :kicksrock:

Here's some highlights. He has good vision, can cut good. But his speed is deceiving. He just doesn't look fast. He just lowers his shoulder and mows down those boys.

Maybe like a Larry Johnson/Ryan Grant type back?

Has no speed at all.
He's 14 and weighs over 200 lbs... By his senior year one of two things are going to happen: He's going to keep getting bigger and stay slowish, or he stays about the same weight and develops some coordination and speed. Give the child (and I mean child) some time. I wasn't a 4.4 40 guy when I was a freshman but I was as a senior... :goodposting: By the way, are those uniforms black and gold? Because something was screaming at me he would look great as a Steeler someday in the future. You know, like in 7-8 years or something... :goodposting:ETA: After watching the video again I think he will play LB at the college level.
