Dynasty Question - Late round players with future value (1 Viewer)

Dentist

***Official FBG Dentist***
I am looking for some late round values in a dynasty situation for the next 4 years... Players with future value that I can acquire cheaply now.

ADP of at LEAST 10th round or later

QB: Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Sam Bradford, Jake Locker

Luck seems the least likely to be available... Bradford or Dalton would be interesting over the next 4 years.. your thoughts?

RB: David Wilson (not likely to be there), Kendall Hunter, Rashard Mendenhall (has he peaked? or is this potentially brilliant?), Jacquizz Rodgers, Ronnie Hillman

I like the idea of Hunter or Mendenhall the best here... your thoughts?

WR:

Justin Blackmon, Michael Floyd, Vincent Brown, Jonathan Baldwin

I'm not in love with any of the options at WR

TE: Coby Fleener? I didn't get too excited about anything here.

Overall, I'm liking: 1) Kendell Hunter 2) Andy Dalton/Sam Bradford 3) Rashard Mendenhall

Who do you like here or did i miss anyone.. I'm obviously looking to hit a home-run with this pick and get someone who has an ADP in the first 3-4 rounds in 2014, 2015

I am all in on David Wilson. He landed in a great situation, and looks to have some explosiveness. Not to mention that he might even have a chance at playing time this year depending on how Bradshaw's brittle feet hold up. I have also been hearing a lot more about Rodgers lately. I heard that the Falcons are calling him "three down back" and not just a change of pace guy. Turner is getting old and I think Rodgers could be a Sproles type guy.

Deeper guys:

QB -

Vince Young

Nick Foles

Ryan Mallet

RB-

Bryce Brown

Vick Ballard

Alex Green

Daniel Thomas

Daryl Richardson

Taiwan Jones

WR -

AJ Jenkins

Nick Toon

Jon Baldwin

Greg Salas

My current long term Dynasty holds:

QBs:

Ryan Mallett - probably the only player EBF and I agree on. He has not looked that good in 2012 preseason action, but I still believe he has the skill set to succeed in the NFL.

RBs:

Phillip Tanner - the broken hand is troublesome, but assuming he can survive the roster cut, he should be the backup behind the fragile DeMarco Murray.

WRs:

Lestar Jean - yeah, I have been pimping him for months but even if he can't beat out Martin as the #3 this season, he will eventually emerge, either replacing the aging Kevin Walter as the #2 or stepping in for AJ if he is out for any extended period of time.

Juron Criner - Rod Streater has outplayed him in preseason but I still think Criner will eventually be the big, move-the-chains guy the Raiders have been missing since Zack Miller left. For what it is worth, I own him in all 6 of my dynasty leagues.

Just out of curiosity Doc, is this the initial draft for a dynasty league? I can't imagine most any of the guys you mention being around in the 10th.

QB:

Ryan Mallett -- Mallett and Hoyer are both quality backups at NE who could find starting gigs eventually. Mallett has a cannon for an arm, and if he can keep his head on straight, he could be a diamond in the rough.

Brock Osweiler -- Peyton is in the twilight of his career, and Osweiler may well be the long-term answer at Denver.

Nick Foles -- Foles looked outstanding in extended work this week. He is auditioning to be the primary backup behind Vick and may see the field sooner rather than later.

Blaine Gabbert -- People are down on Gabbert, and understandably so. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights last season. The absence of MJD will not do him any favors, but I see Gabbert rebounding nicely this season.

RB:

Bilal Powell -- I am not sold on Greene, and Powell is tremendously talented. Eventually, I see Powell getting his shot and capitalizing.

Montario Hardesty -- I am not ready to close the book on Hardesty yet. He is buried behind a young superstar on a poor offense, but if he eventually lands in the right situation, he could still be a productive back.

Bryce Brown -- The talent is there, but Brown may never live up to his ability. He is a stash for the time being, however.

Johnny White -- White may never get a legitimate shot, but I like what I have seen of him so far.

Chris Ivory -- Ivory runs very hard. He is another player buried deep, but talent has a way of working its way to the top.

WR:

Greg Childs -- Not sure Childs can come back from injuring both knees, but 2013 and beyond, he could have some value. Prior to his injury, I had him rated very high.

Lestar Jean -- I have learned not to ignore camp and preseason WR standouts. Jean is among this season's early headliners. Houston is going to need to groom AJ's eventual replacement, and although he is a longshot, Jean may just be the guy.

Leonard Hankerson -- Hankerson has good size and speed and could develop as RGIII's go-to guy.

Vincent Brown -- Injuries have dropped his value, but Brown may be the most talented wideout in San Diego.

Randall Cobb -- Grab him now -- if you still can!

TE:

Taylor Thompson -- A really deep sleeper, but he could develop into a quality receiving TE.

Jordan Cameron -- Another athletically gifted TE who could blossom.

Ledarius Green -- Eventual replacement for Gates??

Julius Thomas -- You starting to see a theme here?

WR:Greg Childs -- Not sure Childs can come back from injuring both knees, but 2013 and beyond, he could have some value. Prior to his injury, I had him rated very high.
Good list except for Childs. No reason to roster this guy. He was dropped in all my leagues and not added back. Wait for news in 2014 that he's practicing.Dwayne Allen - huge value, best TE in this classManningham - can't list all rookiesBrazill - 1st team repsMarvin Jones - not a big fan but is undervalued due to situation not talentLouis Murphy - yeah, maybeMoreno, Scott, L. Washington, Tolbert - Earnest Graham Trophy for boring vet backups nobody wants

Childs - He has NOT been dropped in all your leagues...yet ;)Is this a thread that's more for dynasty, or for keepers? The OP makes me think keepers in a redraft format, but claims dynasty. I'm going to second the Dwayne Allen pick, suggest Vick Ballard, and say that I think Justin Forsett could see a perfect storm from zero value to getting a nice return by the end of this season or next with a couple injuries in Houston. In staying with non-rookies...try and trade for Britt, and I also like Eddie Royal in San Diego to have a shot at some future value, especially with Vincent Brown's injury.

I can keep my 12th round pick 4years no cost. Its otherwise a redraft

So its not a dynasty league. Great title for the thread  .
look, i figure this was a question dynasty type players would answer and that regular FFL players couldn't/wouldn'tnot to mention i was not trying to make it about MY team or situation per se because then it gets moved to the Assistant Coach forum... and in addition to that the topic laid dormant a long time until I reworded everything. So it's dynasty-ish.bottom line is that i got pretty good responses and am better for it

Glad the Shark Pool, not the Assistant Coach Forum, was able to help you with your keeper league draft
