Had to go LT2 here. The best RB in the NFL, proven consistency and should still have a few more high ranking seasons in him.

LT and then I think the #2 spot is shared by Larry Johnson and Steven Jackson. I want to see KC invest some draft picks in their O-Line. They have simply lost too many pieces. Steven Jackson is only 23 (born Jul 22, 1983). Larry Johnson is 27 (born Nov 19, 1979).

I didn't know this, but LT is only 5 months older than LJ. Born Jun 23, 1979.

it's tomlinson without a doubt. but how can you put Addai on this list and not Maroney? seems hugely inconsistent.

not that it matters. tomlinson may be the best back of the millenium.

i think LJ will wear down fairly soon. he gets way too many carries, runs way too hard, and takes way too many hits to last more than another year or two, in my opinion.

Amazing what 12 weeks of football can do. Before the season started the debate was hot and heavy. Most "experts" likes LJ.

I joined 2 new dynasty leagues this season and LJ not LT was the #1 overall pick. He was also #1 in my redraft.

I've said LT for the past 3 years.

toot toot!

It's amazing what a couple partial seasons will do (re: LJ).This was never a doubt IMO, but others did disagree.

IMO, this fear is overblown. LJ only had 476 career carries coming into this season. If he gets 400 each of the next three years, he'll approach 1700. LT2 is over 1900 today. Both guys will hit 30 at about the same time, but LT2 should have approximately 1000 more career carries at that point. I have a hard time believing that LJ will wash out first. That said, I voted for LT2. He's just too dominant right now. LJ is the clear #2 though IMO.

LJ is producing like a No. 1 overall-caliber player. But so is LT - and obviously at a better level. It wasn't unreasonable to project Johnson #1, Tomlinson #2. Last year, it was Johnson with more touchdowns in less games and a much better YPC average. This year, the roles have somewhat reversed and LT has the better YPC and touchdown count. Both are performing. If you took LT, good on you. If you took LJ, I'd hardly say, "tough luck". Next year, the roles may reverse again.

I was thinking the same thing; LT is simply having a "once-in-a-lifetime" season. He is playing on another level. I would put him as the #1 dynasty RB, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if LJ outproduces him over the next couple of years. He doesn't have many career carries, probably hasn't hit his prime yet...the best is probably yet to come.

Reggie Bush isn't even an option in this poll. Now would've thought that 6 months ago?

LT has to be the choice.

That said, this is the first season in a while he's stayed healthy. That's probably why he didn't go crazy like this in the past couple of years. Part of that might be Turners impact earlier in the season, sparing LT from taking a beating.

I added Bush to the next poll here: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...=291867&st=What a season LT is having this year. But the thing is with him he is so good there is no reason to be suprised by how well he is performing. And no stop to it in sight. The only thing that can really stop him is injury. That is the main concern with all Rbs. They do not have as long of careers performing at peak level as other players do in the NFL. So the window of being productive your normaly looking at for Rbs is not as long ushualy.

As a general rule of thumb I look at players in 3 year windows when considering age. Rbs have started to be productive a bit longer lately than they were in the past. But age 30 is still somthing to be mindful of and a water mark for when most Rbs decline. Thats been streached out to 32 for some Rbs lately so there is some hope that they may begin lasting longer. For me I am ushualy only looking at Rbs in 2 year windows though. This year and the year after. Because thier situations are a lot less stable than Qbs and Wrs.

LT is definitely the man. He can score so many ways. Never seen a Rb as good as him and that includes Barry Sanders and Walter Payton who were truly great. LT is like a combination of thier strengths with some Emmit Smith and Marshall Faulk too. Best player in the game imo period and the 1st player I would take in any draft.
