I'll let you know after waivers run tomorrow. Is this an official hype train yet?
From Oakland's point of view, second-year tight end Clive Walford offers much more promise, with ESPN's Adam Caplan reporting that the Raiders want to "expand his role going forward."
"After muffing just two of 58 targets during his senior year at Miami, Walford finished his first NFL season without a registered drop."
Raiders OC Bill Musgrave said he wants TE Clive Walford "to be a big part of what we do."
Walford missed all of the offseason program after injuring his knee in an ATV accident, but he says he is still more comfortable in the offense than he was as a rookie. Despite being listed behind Lee Smith on the first depth chart, Walford is clearly the primary pass-catching option from the tight end spot. He could push for 90 targets in an offense poised to explode.

He might have a higher than expected TD rate because Cooper and Crabs are not Mike Evans-style red zone targets. I don't think he'll be a target hog like Eifert and Kelce will be, tho.Any homers have any further insight as to how he is doing? Can he take it to the next level?
That's good to hear. My backup te as wellHe might have a higher than expected TD rate because Cooper and Crabs are not Mike Evans-style red zone targets. I don't think he'll be a target hog like Eifert and Kelce will be, tho.
Love him as a backup fantasy TE, because he is also a big play guy. He can get deep.
Clive Walford (knee) returned to Raiders practice Thursday, and is expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ESPN's Adam Caplan had reported Walford was "no sure bet" to suit up, but CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair says there was never any concern. Walford is a back-end TE2, even for good matchups.

An excellent fit in Derek Carr's aerial attack, Cook is an exceptionally athletic seam-stretching tight end. Although Clive Walford was drafted to fill that role, he failed to consistently gain separation in a disappointing second season.
I wonder how he is as a blocker, since Colts don't have a solid blocking TE currently. This helps Ebron too.Colts signed TE Clive Walford.
Walford has spent the entire year out of the league after getting waived from the Jets at final cuts. With Jack Doyle on IR and Erik Swoope (knee) sidelined, Walford will step in as the Colts' No. 3 tight end.
