Dynasty Startup Question (1 Viewer)

Hurl Bruce

Footballguy
In the middle of a dynasty superflex TE premium startup draft with 12 teams. This is my first foray into dynasty.

Started off with

QB LJax, Purdy, Nix
RB James Cook, Joe Mixon, Zamir White
WR DK Metcalf, Devonte Smith
TE LaPorta

First, how does this look so far?

Second, with the exception of Mixon, I've tried to stay on the younger side. At what point do I just start drafting the higher ranked "win-now" guys vs the longer term flyer types?

Continuously throughout the draft as value presents itself. Too many people go into dynasty start ups looking to the future and forget that you have a title to win this year. I go on the shallow side of projections and only look at guys in 2 year windows. Too many things happen (injuries, coaching changes, trades, free agency, holdouts, etc) to plan more than two years in advance.

Older players are always available for under value because people always look to the future. Don't get caught up in that mentality. I try to always have an eye to the future but realize that this game is 95% luck so playing for the now is the priority. It's not a popular dynasty approach but it has served me well over the years.

Solid start for sure. Nice mix of youth and veterans.
