Dynasty: The luster has faded or time to buy low(er) (1 Viewer)

. If people are starting to view Clay + extras as fair value for Graham then it might be time to buy Graham. I have Clay in two leagues and would happily tack on a meaningless 2nd round rookie pick to get a real nucleus player.
I assumed he meant getting a top 50 player + Clay, assuming you need a TE back. If you're getting a young WR2-type like Martavis, Benjamin, or Dorsett, then you can make a case for it at least. I do think a deal like that is still a gamble though. Graham should be productive for a significant number of years; whether he puts any elite years together post-Brees is debatable, but I don't see him disappearing like Vernon Davis has or retire early like Christensen or Winslow Sr. I'd view Graham's production at 33 as more secure than those of most players you'd get for him circa +3 years. There's a good trade out there, but I think most sellers will be bailers.

That is a terrible trade offer. Rawls has no real dynasty value, while Matthews is considered a top 20 dynasty WR. The other owner probably thought you weren't serious in offering a temp RB starter and a freaking KICKER for a dynasty WR2.
It should be noted that the post I was talking about was in a REDRAFT league, which I may not have specified.

Note, I wrote "I offered to trade him Rawls and a secondary piece (either the SEA kicker, or a bench RB) for one of his WRs.".

The secondary piece I offered (other than the kicker) was Isaiah Crowell.

You guys can say what you want, but it is definitely a legitimate offer IN REDRAFT considering he has NO OTHER BACKS , and its a good possibility Lynch will not even play this week.

He could start Crowell, and have another RB to give him "something", there is absolutely nothing on the wire.

The worst part about this, is the guy has a contending team, and is 3-1. He is almost a lock for the playoffs, but his RBs are going to let him down if he doesn't acquire someone fast.

His other WRs are performing better than Matthews, one is Brandon Marshall, and the other I cannot remember offhand....and he has two other "startable" WRs on his bench, its a start 3 WR league.

Obviously everything changes in dynasty, and my above comments were applicable to one of my redraft leagues...so back to your dynasty thread and comments. :D

It's a terrible trade offer. Just because the other team has NO DEPTH does not mean that your terrible trade offer is less terrible. It sounds like you're basically the worst kind of owner to deal with. Don't feel bad - every league has one.

Ok, well let's see.........

There's owner that has essentially 2 RBs, (and 5 startable WRs), so offering him Rawls and Crowell (when he has Lynch) for one of his 5 startable WRs is a terrible trade offer. (the exact offer, which a couple of you can't fathom.......was Rawls, and either Crowell or Hauschka, his choice)

My other buddy (who actually gets it) just laughed and said to the other owner "it might not be the best trade, but how can you not go for it, when you have 2 other WRs rotting away on the bench". But, as I said earlier, everything changes in Dynasty.

You sir- are more worried about winning the trade, instead of improving your team .

Some people just don't get that aspect of fantasy, and never will.

Don't feel bad, every league I have ever been in has one just like you as well.

Some of you geese would rather beat a dead horse and argue much more than worry about actually improving your team.

Quit bringing this up and ruining the good discussion otherwise in this thread.

I'm surprised by the consensus thoughts on Jeffery thus far. I know as an Alshon owner I'm becoming a little disenchanted and not sure I'd require the same asking price I would before the season started.
I agree with this. I'm not an alshon owner but Chicago is a team in turmoil. Cutler will be gone soon. Who takes his place? Could be good or bad for Jeffrey we don't know. Kevin white is a stud. When he gets healthy what will that do to Jeffrey? Depends on the offensive situation moving forward (scheme, qb, etc). Will there be enough production to make 2 Wrs elite? Alshon is a good buy low BC of the question marks but he comes with risk.

No interest in buying Calvin low. He hasn't been uber study since his 2000 td season a few years back and is on the decline. And his owner still values him as calvin.

Graham...no way. He's not an elite te1 in sea. Never will be imo. His owner will want too much to part with him.

Watkins is a great target. He has insane talent. The injuries are a good thing to help you buy low. He will eventually stake claim to elite wr1 numbers in that offense. Buy now if you can in dynasty.

Yup. Specifically said "another nice piece", which means more than some meaningless second. Dorsett would be an interesting one, as would DeVante Parker, Kevin White, or anyone who I had rated as a late 1st this year who is losing a bit of his luster. Obviously any sort of future first would qualify, as would Benjamin. If I wanted to mitigate the risk, something like Graham for Clay plus Jordy would be perfect- it gives me a tight end to replace Graham in the short term, it gives me an uber-talented difference maker to cover for the loss of Graham's upside in the long term. Allen Robinson or Donte Moncrief if their owners are not true believers. Something like that.

Great logic, if you're the only person in the league he's allowed to trade with.
