Dynasty Trade- Crabtree & 3.1 for Crowder & 2018 3rd (1 Viewer)

Dynasty trade offer during our ongoing rookie draft.

I give: Crowder & 2018 3rd round pick

I get: Crabtree & 2017 3.1

League is NON-PPR... 12 teams, standard scoring.

My team RBs and WRs (start 2RB, 3WR, 1FLEX):

RB: Abdullah, D Lewis, Mixon, ADP, Rawls, Jacquizz Rogers, D Washington, R Jennings

WR: D Adams, B Cooks, Hopkins, Crowder, M Mitchell, Treadwell

I'm obviously weak at RB.

3.1 is the next pick and has the following RBs available: McNichols, Conner, Gallman, Pumphrey, McFadden, A Jones, etc.

I think Crowder is going to have a big year, but I need more RB depth and not sure any of those first three are going to make it back to me at my next pick at 3.9

THANKS!

i like the trade for you...i'm not as big on crowder as some and think crabtree very is comparable. Personally i have crabtree ranking just slightly higher.  The addition of the 3.1 might net you a decent player due to this draft being pretty deep and swapping for next years unknown 3rd rounder is a good deal.

If there is a guy you really want at 3.1 then go for it.  Crowder and Crabtree are very similar but I like Crowder more now that D-Jax and Garcon are gone.  Based on that I would only do the deal if there was someone I really wanted at 3.1.  None of those guys strike me as must haves but I can see making the deal.

3.1 now is greaterr value than a future 3 that at best is 3.1 a year out, and could be 3.12.

Crabtree may be better than Crowder now, but is older and less likely to gain value.  As Gally notes, Crowder could be in for a nice uptick in targets.

None if those RBs you listed impresses me, but maybe you flip the pick and other assets for an upgrade.  Harder to do that with a future pick than with one otc.

Thanks so far, guys.

yeah- the Crowder vs Crabtree part is a bit of a tossup, IMO... I think Crabtree's a bit ahead, but Crowder is younger and this is a year that could make him a #1 given the personnel and his statistical trajectory.

I don't that that either of these guys are going to make or break my team.

Mostly, I'd be doing the trade for the 3.1 this year (next year will probably be a mid-round 3rd given my team) for the shot at one of those RBs: McNichols, Conner, Gallman... on the off-chance one of them can grab a chance/injury/whatever and be a starting RB (if not this year, than in the years to come... my RBs are clearly a weak spot on my team). and none of them will likely make it to me at my 3.9.

but I"ll be honest- I don't know these guys at all... are they really not worth trading up for? If I do- you guys have a preference for one of them?

I wouldn't say they are worth trading up for...but I don't think that's what you're doing.  You're upgrading a future pick to a better current pick, which is a net win.

Also, I wouldn't count on Crowder being a #1.  He's an excellent slot, which can be a strong fantasy producer, but rarely ends up successfully being a #1 on an NFL offense.  Crabtree has no prayer of being a #1 either though, since he's behind Cooper.

As to the RBs...none of them are really guaranteed to ever amount to much, and all three have significant holes or perceived weaknesses.  If I had to pick, I'd take Conner, just because of the situation.  He seems like he'd have a clearer path to a starting job IF the guy ahead of him went down, whereas the other two would still be in a committee even after a starter injury.  Plus, the Pitt running game historically has been an excellent fantasy play.

Hope that helps...

I'd stay put. None of those RB options really help you, and I personally like Crowder quite a bit more than Crabtree going forward.

Thanks again for your time, guys- I ended up taking the trade and going with Conner.

Kind of a tossup, but ultimately Arodin's comment about trading up pushed me over.

Plus- the guy with the 3.3 had predrafted Conner- the only guy he wanted there! So at least I sniped somebody in the process. FWIW- none of those other guys made it back to me... have ended up taking Myles Garret, Zenner, and Torrey Smith... future stud DL, likely back-up to Abdullah and a guy I keep thinking will produce after a strong start to his career in Smith- so maybe this year he will again.
