eagles vs steelers (1 Viewer)

Steeler special teams just flat-out PLAYING tonight. I haven't seen them look this good in years.

5 catches in 18 minutes of action for Brown. And he definately looked comfortable + smooth out there for a rookie. Very polished IMO. Even with T.O. in the picture this guy is a better option than Mitchell at #3WR. AJ FEELEY! LMFAO!

Eagles special teams are playing like mine on Madden 2005....they just run to the blocks, seem to have no idea where the ball is. I think it was #41 who ran down and flattened a guy, but had to run by the ball to do it? WTF? Nice hit buddy, how about hitting the guy with the ball like that.

Does Elvis Patterson coach the Eagles ST? :lmao:Brown looks VERY good out there - running solid routes and making the catches he should. Freddie Mitchell just wants to thank Brown's hands for being so great.

I think TO lost some leverage there....

Reggie Brown looks solid. Considering we got him basically for AJ Feeley I'll do that trade any day of the week
The Eagles had two series against Pitt's first team defense- one resulted in an INT returned for a TD and the other was 3-and-out. Sure they did well when it was their first team offense against Pitt's second team defense, but does that really mean anything?

When their top 3 receivers have less then 50 career catches, yes, that drive for a TD showed promise.

I didn't say that it wasn't promising. I highlighted the statement "TO lost some leverage" and I disagreed with that.

how about #21 outrunning the entire Eagles team

that man wants a job.
That's Ricardo Colclough - 2nd round pick of 2004 draft - he has a job. He's expected to start opposite Townsend at CB, or at worst, be the nickel corner.

That's not totally correct. Pitt's first team D played until the end of the first quarter (midway thru the scoring drive). Eagles keep shooting themselves in the foot with penalties and special teams errors.Edit to add:

1-10-PHI30 (5:19) D.McNabb pass to R.Brown pushed ob at PHI 40 for 10 yards (C.Hope).

1-10-PHI40 (4:58) PENALTY on PHI-L.Smith, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at PHI 40 - No Play.

1-15-PHI35 (4:41) B.Westbrook right guard to PHI 45 for 10 yards (T.Polamalu).

PENALTY on PHI-L.Smith, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at PHI 35 - No Play.

1-25-PHI25 (4:22) D.McNabb pass to G.Lewis to PHI 28 for 3 yards (D.Townsend).

2-22-PHI28 (3:47) D.McNabb pass to R.Brown to PHI 33 for 5 yards (W.Williams, T.Polamalu).

3-17-PHI33 (3:04) (Shotgun) D.McNabb pass to B.McMullen to PIT 46 for 21 yards (L.Foote).

1-10-PIT46 (2:25) B.Westbrook left end ran ob at PIT 40 for 6 yards (D.Townsend).

PENALTY on PHI-R.Brown, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at PIT 46 - No Play.

1-20-PHI44 (1:56) D.McNabb sacked at PHI 40 for -4 yards (J.Harrison).

2-24-PHI40 (1:22) D.McNabb pass to R.Brown to PIT 39 for 21 yards (W.Williams).

3-3-PIT39 (:42) D.McNabb pass incomplete to R.Brown (W.Williams).

Lots of comments on Brown, how does Lewis look?
Lewis was out of position on the first play of the game where Willie Williams got the INT for the TD. He had a nice grab on a crossing route a little later, though for about 20 yards against the Steelers first team D. Apart from the first play he didn't look bad.

HOLY #### DID YOU SEE THAT BLOCK BY GIBSON!!!!!!!!!!!! Hines Wardesque maybe????????? Both from Georgia....
I like what I am seeing from Gibson so far - made a nice move after the catch a few mintues ago to shed a tackler and pick up a first down, and then just LIT UP a would-be tackler for the Eagles with a punishing block. Nice start for the 4th rounder.I want to see more of Heath Miller in the offense...

Fast Willie Parker - 5 yard TD run on a draw.He is so effective on draw plays on passing downs. There were so many 3rd and 6s, 3rd and 8s last year that Parker picked up on draw plays......

Anything on H. Miller the rookie TE in this game?
I think he has 1 or 2 catches. I see him pulling in about 50-55 balls this year.
Yardage or TD prediction?
In the spotlight thread, I predicted 52 catches for about 550 yards and 5-6 TDs. If they utilize him in the manner in which they intimated they would, I think he could be a big time sleeper this year.

Lewis had three catches on 5 targets. The first play of the game he flat out ran the wrong route. !st and 10 from the 5 yard line and the Eagles target Lewis on a quick out. He was not in the spot he was supposed to be in (ran too deep) and the pass was picked for a TD. He also was the target of the lone deep ball McNabb threw, a deep route down the left sideline. The ball was overthrown by DMac, but Lewis was covered well anyways. He caught the other three passes thrown his way, including a crossing pattern over the middle (going right to left) which he ran a great route, caught the ball in stride and got some YAC. Overall, he looked pretty good. Brown and Lewis each had five targets, with Lewis the deep threat and Brown looking more the possession reciever.

FWIW I think Lewis is an ideal slot reciever for this offense. Of course this is only possible with T.O. and Lewis at WR1 + WR2. Not sure the Eagles will be able to see this happen.

Touchdown Ryan Moats.........First of many in a Philly uniform. I'm telling you that this kid will fill in nicely if Westbrook goes down.

Phew, I dunno, he just a li'l guy, a REAL li'l guy!! I can't see him getting to much work, probably just a third down type guy, out of the backfield when needed. Nice sidestep on the second td though. Quick feet.
