Early dynasty draft going on (1 Viewer)

We lost a handful of owners so we were forced to re-draft. We are currently nearly 8 rounds through. Not really in any hurry to finish it so for now there isn't a time limit but has still gone at a decent pace. Here is the link to the Rosters. Lets hear your thoughts fellas.

And here is how the draft has gone so far. Random serpentine. Seperate rook draft obviously.

Is 1.04 a new to Zealots guy?
Can you explain? At first I thought it was an odd pick but then I saw the scoring is 6 points for all TDs That makes QBs more valuable, no? Is your point that RBs are at a premium in these leagues despite the scoring?

RB's are king in Zealots, you can start 3. It's important to have a good QB, but I wouldn't expect a veteran Zealot to grab a QB at 4, if at all in the first 2 rounds.

Interested in what the full lineup requirements are because Fitz at 1.11 seems to be a steal.

really surprised at some of the selections. Highower before Roddy White or Brandon Marshall. A lot of questionable picks imo but i guess everybody values players differently

I think it's...1QB2RB3WR1TE1Flex(RB, WR, TE)1K2DL2LB2DB2 D flex, no more than 3 per position.

I guess someone is assuming that Hightower will take over for Edge in the offseason. While I think Edge is probably gone, I don't think the Cardinals are going to hand the reins to TH. The Cardinals will bring someone in or draft someone before they hand it to TH.

Totally agree.. Peyton really should have gone about a round earlier.

Interesting.

While there are some head scratchers like Hightower and a few other picks, what I was most confused by was the order of the defensive backs.

Arizona Cardinals McGee, Terrence BUF CBWilson had an amazing season but only 1 year does not make the 1st DB overall imo. He could be but thats a risk.Weddle #2.. SD will not have so many problems on defense as they did last year. Weddle is good but not as good as he did last year.

I am not sure Collins will be the starting SS for Green Bay next year. Too much risk to be taken 3rd.

Ed Reed is very boom or bust depending on his turnovers. Taken too high.

I could keep going on and I realize DBs are very erratic (a bit less if you take the tackle guys) but I just don't understand making picks like this over solid performers like Tillman Adrain Wilson Winfield to name a few.

Wow Reggie Wayne drops out of the top 10?
You can make an argument for most of the WRs taken before him, but not Welker and Edwards. And, yes, Forte went too high... but I can understand the pick.
Welker led the league with 112 rec in 2007 (for 1175 yds)... then placed second in 2008 with 111 (for 1165 yds).Welker isn't the TD threat that Wayne is but in the 2 years he's been with the Patriots, he's been an extreemly consistent fantasy scorer. Not to mention the fact that Wayne is 30 years old vs. Welker at 27. Three more years of future production is huge in a Dynasty.

Eh. I like having Welker in Zealots leagues, but this isn't PPR. I can appreciate targeting the guy, but even if you're discounting older guys like Wayne, Moss and Smith.... taking him over Jennings, Boldin, and even Royal is questionable.I don't mind that he was the target, but the Pats could have traded down.

Another doozy:

8.10 94. New York Giants Thigpen, Tyler KCC QB
That's after taking Matt Ryan and needing a TE with Gonzo still on the board.

FFCardsFan - you should be able to consistently make the playoffs and set yourself up for some titles. Based on this draft alone there are a handful of guppies in your league. Dominate and have fun!

Thanks for updating this and generating some solid content.

Unless you think Wayne will be good for only 1-2 years, their ages do not matter. Projecting out past 3 years is a little silly, imo. It also remains to be seen if Welker can maintain his exceptional quickness and immediate burst that makes him so valuable past age 30 or so... not saying he won't, but we'll see. I think long speed has more longevity than burst and quickness, generally.Without PPR, Wayne has SIGNIFICANTLY more upside than Welker. Welker's ceiling is likely 1200/6.... Wayne's is likely 1400/12. Considering they have around the same floor, that difference in ceilings makes Wayne the clear choice, imo.

Thanks man.At QB, I might have taken Schaub a round or 3 early, but I am pretty high on him and expect him to step up to the next tier of QB's. But I also snagged Warner in round 10 which I was pretty happy with. Hopefully I can get atleast 1, possibly 2 solid/healthy seasons from him. Then Orton as my QB3 with Fitzpatrick and Flynn as my young guns.RB. I'm satisfied with my 1-2 punch of S-Jax and Brown. But since you can start 3, hopefully Sproles, Rhodes, Ricky and/or Fred Jackson can step up and produce like they are capable of. I'm pretty confident that atleast one of them will produce atleast decently on a weekly basis that I can just plug in, but we'll see. Also have a few young dudes here, but nothin eye popping. Not a WR corp that will blow you away but pretty solid. I'm real high on Bowe and expect big numbers out of him, especially with Haley in town. Not too high on Evans, but I think I got lucky with Owens signing. I think Evans can be more consistant with TO on the other side of the field. Kinda getting unlucky though with this whole Cutler situation. I think Royal's value takes a solid hit if Cutler gets traded. Not very deep at this position though. Have S.Smith (NYG), Matt Jones, Doucet, Darling, J. Nelson to name a few of my other guys. Wow, now that I break this down, I'm not very confident with this group at all.TE. Happy with O.Daniels, think he will produce. Scaife looked decent last year, and if Spach recovers all the way, he should start here in AZ.Not much of an IDP man, and I figure I'll just make myself look like an idiot if I try to breakdown that part of my roster, but I'm pretty happy with how my draft turned out. Could have gone better, but I'm satisfied.

I disagree. Long speed is the first to go. Quick moves are what will keep Welker at the top of his game well after Wayne's speed has left him. Think Troy Brown of NE fame. Bradys favorite target at 31 years old.Tory Holt was Reggie Wayne 2 years ago. Look how fast he has fallen. Wayne has shown us signs of his decline this year. Yes, maybe 2 more years for him.
