Gromek: I am very surprised that you posted the names of the teams along with the players. I personally know 4 of the guys in your draft, so getting to see who they like early is a gift to me and the rest of the high stakes fantasy community. But if it was me on that list, I would be very unhappy with you.
Never understood this thinking? Is this Baseball what a unwritten rule, like stealing when your winning by a couple of runs. ;) You want guys to post who they pick, so if no one wants others to see who they picked, what do you have? Nothing. So you won't post any of your drafts? I guess no one else should either. Why post rookie drafts, rankings or anything to do with Football players. What would Footballguys be without posting drafts rankings?I shot a 92 Today by the way, am I giving anything away?
Try to catch up. You are 13 days behind.

just completed a WCOFF $220 satellite draft. I went WR-WR-WR-WR-TE-RB-RB-RB-RB-RB. I waited until the end on QBs.QB - Matt Cassel (13.12), Matthew Stafford (14.1), Mark Sanchez (19.12)RB - CJ Spiller (6.1), Brandon Jacobs (7.12), Steve Slaton (8.1), Jerome Harrison (9.12), Chester Taylor (10.1), Correll Buckhalter (16.1)WR - Miles Austin (1.12), Brandon Marshall (2.1), Michael Crabtree (3.12), Mike Sims-Walker (4.1), Chris Chambers (11.12), Donnie Avery (12.1), Josh Morgan (15.12)TE - Jermichael Finley (5.12), Greg Olsen (18.1)
Sorry but I don't like that team much - the WR are not good enough to carry below average RB and QB
My best team in this format last year utilized this strategy. That is probably why I have become fond of using it in the PPR format. You usually seem to end up with a team that doesn't look great on paper. My thinking was to get 3-4 WRs and an elite TE that will see a boatload of targets, then grab a handful of committee RBs with upside and hope a couple pan out. Of course you need your "elite" WRs to perform that way, but I seem to feel more comfortable taking these top WRs over some of these RBs that are going in the first four rounds. There just seems to be more downside with the RBs.
The statistics show that waiting on your RB1 and going WR-WR is VERY difficult to win your league. The odds are very low. Somebody did a study on this and I think the % was less than 5% of teams that do this win their league. The fact that you push the envelope even greater and not take a RB until the 6th, likely means you have to defy history to avoid certain disaster.
That is true, Scott, but I wonder how much the study still applies with all the RBBC's these days. I think the landscape has changed and this strategy is far more viable than when we first entered WCOFF.

Here's the first 12 rounds of another WCOFF I did on Friday. I had the #6 pick in this one and went

AJ

Pierre Thomas

Brees

Bowe

Garcon

Spiller

Hester

Holmes

Jacobs

Carlson

McFadden

A Gonzalez

Spiller will be moving up draft boards now. McCoy last pick of the 2nd and Best at 3.11 were mild surprises. I continue to like the strategy of waiting on RB as value seem to be there in the middle rounds. WR seems to get thin pretty quick.
