East Village or Soho Hotel Recommendations? (1 Viewer)

Climbing up the Walls
I'm going to NY for a couple of trade shows mid to late August. I Stayed in Manhattan last time and while it was interesting, I don't need to experience it again. That being said, I really enjoyed what little time I spent in East Village and Soho. I'm leaning towards East Village though. Any recommendations? Mainly going for the food and culture at night. I'll be there for a total of five nights, and would like to stay at one place. I can look at reviews online, but I'm curious about FBG's take on it.

As far as neighborhoods, I prefer the Village but since I live here I have never stayed in a hotel here so I can't help with specific hotels.  I wish I had more advice about hotels because I am always willing to help someone who helps rescue Ridgebacks.  Love them

I like the Bowery Hotel and Standard in the East Village.  Lived in the neighborhood for a minute and the locations will put you very close to soho as well.

I live in the LES/Evil... The Ludlow, indigo, 60Les, all nice. The Public just opened up and should be good too. Indigo and public have solid roof bars. and of course you're in the hood for all the rest of it. And then you can throw up in my doorway like all the rest of the yabos.

 How can you not?

After looking at the Sixty near East Village, I booked. Nice place! Thanks for the heads up.
The one on Allen St on the LES i mentioned, or the one on thompson at in SoHo Bobby linked? Both nice, but obviously different hoods.

ETA... The one on Allen has a decent little pool which often has decent little ladies in indecent little pool garb

Also, there's an equipment shed in the Vesuvio Playground across from where i used to live @ 90 Thompson that usually isnt locked that you can pass out in when you're loaded. That's my SoHo....
the uptight, gossiping trinidadian nannies will run you outta there by 8am likkity split.
