Eddie Kennison (2 Viewers)

KOMA

I'm in a 12 team league that plays 4 WRs every week and counts PPR . I was poking around on the waiver wire and noticed that Eddie Kennison was available so I snapped him up. I know he's coming off of a bum hammy but this seemed like too good a bargain to pass up. Finding a WR who's #1 on the team with a good #2 in Bowe was unbelievable.

So I tell you all of this to ask, is there something that I don't know? Was this just dumb luck or was I just dumb? I dropped Demetrius Williams to get Kennison. What's his availability in your leagues?

Well Kennison is older than dirt and Bowe has probably emerged as the #1 WR option and #3 overall option after LJ and TG. That would make Kennison the #4 overall option at best on a low scoring team with a mediocre QB. In my opinion, Kennison should be ranked outside the top 60 WR, which would make him a bench player even in a start 4 WR, 12 team league.

Q&A with HERM EDWARDS - 10/4

Oct 04, 2007, 3:08:13 PM

Q: When Eddie Kennison comes back what’s the dynamic between him and Bowe and how the team will work both of them? Will you have to change anything Bowe has done?

EDWARDS: “No. He’ll just do what does. Eddie will come in and play and they will both play. Not a problem. We anticipated that two weeks ago, so we’re on track to get him in the game.”

I don't think its a zero sum game. Having Kennison and Bowe make the whole KC offense more likely to put points on the board. Opens up the runs which in turn opens up the play action. I wouldn't be starting Kennison the first week he comes back but I think he will put up 50-80 yards a week and a td every so often.
