Edelman - WR - New England Patriots (1 Viewer)

Edelman will be a matchup guy that will be very difficult to pin down his good nights.

If you're desperate in PPR then go for it but otherwise I see him having pretty volatile swings.

I'll agree that Edelman isn't a "start with confidence" type WR. But as long as he is playing in the majority of snaps and is getting consistent targets per game, he should have a fairly high floor and low ceiling. In PPR, as a bye week fill-in, he's got a decent shot at scoring 10 points in a given week. There's a lot of other waiver wire WR's who are much riskier desperation plays and higher ceilings. Not saying his floor is 5/50/0. But of the waiver wire WR's out there, he's probably the likeliest to hit that kind of statline consistently. For some us, that's good enough.

Edelman was on the field for 52-of-61 snaps on offense in Sunday's win over the Colts, ESPN.com's Mike Reiss reports.

Brandon Lloyd's snap-count was cut to 34 on Sunday, while Edelman and Wes Welker served as the primary duo in the Patriots' two-receiver sets Sunday, giving the team "a smaller, shiftier tandem" in the words of Reiss.

Caught five passes for 58 yards and a TD, rushed once for 47 yards and returning a punt 68 yards for a TD.
Who knows what the going forward trend is for New England, part of their success formula is shifting gears and emphasizing different players week to week.

Welker

Hernandez

Edelman

Lloyd

In that order.

In a pass first offense? Why not.

I'll take Edelman over Steve Johnson and Denarius Moore types this week.

I like him as a dynasty stash in case Welker moves on to other pastures, but I don't see anything better than a very volatile desperation flex in redraft.

I agree. I even traded for him a couple of weeks ago. Don't go crazy though short term. Hernandez is back and will be huge unless he's really hurt bad. I LOVE him dynasty wise.
