Edge is FBG's #3 Ranked RB this Week? (1 Viewer)

As an Edge owner, I hope this is the correct forecast, but ranking him ahead of ADP? Edge has been pedestrian at best until last weeks mini-eruption. Factor in that Shipp is the more effective goalline back now (Edge whiffed on 3 straight attempts) and SEA will focus on stuffing the run with AZ WRs dinged up - not a good recipe in IMO. Hope I'm wrong! Would love to hear from staff on why Edge is ranked so high. Good luck this weekend in playoffs y'all!

I hope they are right too. I just put Edge in my lineup when I read the Reggie Bush news.

This, I assume is based on two factors:

1) He ran wild against them last time.

2) Fitz and Boldin are highly questionable, making an increased run game more likely.

My rebuttal to those points would be:

1) This game is in Seattle. He's going nowhere.

2) That's a fine and dandy plan until Seattle goes up 14-0, then he doesn't factor into the passing game.

Even on a good day, he doesn't sniff the end zone anymore. His two consecutive efforts from the 1 yard line last week against a well-below average Cleveland defense was downright disgusting. No wonder he typically gets pulled inside the 5. I am starting Fred Taylor over Edge this week, and I honestly didn't have to think too long and hard about it.

He should be ranked somewhere in the mid-low teens this week.

Now this is a damn  I'm so tired of seeing the "what the hell is FBG thinking?", "this ranking sucks", etc. without any rationale whatsoever.

Looking at Dodds's projections, something doesn't add up. He's projected for fewer yards and a smaller chance of TD than almost everyone else in the top ten. It's as if someone inadvertently included 260 passing yards in his totals...

[edit: Jesse Chatman is projected with the same number of yards and TDs, and he's listed at #20.]

Good spot, abrecher. Not sure how it happened, but Edge had some passing stats. I removed them and he's down to #19.

Sorry for the mistake.

Somehow 1.3 passing TDs got in his stats. I am correcting this now.

The error has been corrected. He shows up at #18 this week among backs. Sorry for the mistake.

This ranking is way off IMHO and after this weeks games you'll see just how far off it was.
Edge averages 102 rush yards last 3 vs. seattle, the ranking is dead on! as opposed to NFL.com's Mike Fabiano, who urges you to sit Edge this week. ( when in doubt, do the opposite of what Fabiano says)I can see Edge going off for 120+ yards, and a score..Also, lest we forget, the Cards are without 1 possibly 2 starting WR's, in Fitz and Boldin, which translates to a heavy reliance on the running game. That's probably the main reason FBG's has Edge ranked so highly.

As I was saying.... he's pretty much a stiff. Only his bank account is happy he left Indy.
