ESPN LIve Auction Test (1 Viewer)

Chaos Commish

Footballguy
I know this type of thing belongs in the mock draft forum, but I'm trying to find out if ESPN is better than Fantasy Auctioneer for the Ultimate Survivor Auctions. I have created a public mock auction at ESPN to see how it works. I could not put in today's date, so I set it up for tomorrow, July 17th, at 10pm est. If you can join and bid for awhile (we don't even need to finish this, just see how it works), that would be appreciated. The mock I created is not showing up on their mock draft page for me, but that could be because I am already in it.

Go here to see if you can join a mock/league named ESPN Trial Auction I am Team Smith. Report back here if you join or have issues. Thanks.

I've done a few ESPN Auctions and find their interface to be demonstrably better than FA. Now if FA has improved its software for this year, I may have to change my opinion but based on my prior experiences with FA, ESPN = the goods.

all the ones I see listed seem to have an NFL team name attached to them, for example: Carolina Mock Draft 131535
Okay, I initially made this private then realized I had to email all invites so I switched to public. I think that may have messed something up. Also ESPN says my last name (Wright) is a filthy word. :X I could not register until I changed my name! I have a little work on my desk, but I'll set up another auction in a little while and see if that helps. I can see the auction I created under my leagues, but I cannot find it anywhere else for others to use?

Also also, someone named Pat joined so I'm going to leave ESPN Trial Auction up and see what happens. I wonder how/where "Pat" found it and got in. I'm counting on your help, JEB. :blackdot:

I disagree completely, but to each their own.

Can you track a persons cap space on ESPN?
Yep...at the top of the app it shows you either their amount left or their max bid left. Scrolling over their icon shows you Money left, players drafted and remaining to draft, max bid. The timer default is 60 seconds, with the clock running as bids go UNTIL the 10 second mark. At that point the clock re-sets back to 10 seconds at every bid until there's a winner. I'm not sure about some of the league management options yet, e.g., being able to turn the clock timer on and off as you need. You would have to run a custom league to check that stuff out and I just jumped into a few live drafts to give it a test run.

But, throughout the year does it track salaries and keep things updated when trades happen etc? I was told that fanball had the best site for doing that...

I don't think we're talking about the same kind of thing. Once an auction redraft is over, it becomes a standard ESPN league. That is, you use waivers to acquire players and trades aren't based on a salary, just roster space.
