espn waiver question (1 Viewer)

houston

Does ESPN lockout free agent pickups once games start?

Waiver rules found here: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/resources/hel...e-agency-custom

but it doesn't seem to describe what happens during games.

Basically, I want players to be unavailable once either:

a) the sunday games start

b) or that player's game has begun.

If MJD goes down on Sunday, I want Jennings to be rewarded during the weekly waiver process and not to whoever was quickest to the computer on Sunday.

thanks for pointing out my earlier thread. the one where i learned that espn is a better option for my league. stay classy, san diego!

Yes, all rosters and the player pool are locked during the games.

After the week's games (Tues. or Wed. morning), players on waivers are awarded to owners who have put in a request (according to waiver priority). Later in the week the players on waivers become free agents for anyone to swap in our out of their rosters.

Is there a way to have free agents available during a game. For example Grant was hurt today could I drop a guy on my bench and pick up Jackson as soon as I see Grant go down. I don't see that as an option.

It seems to lock everyone even if they are on your bench when their game starts.

Anybody help me on this.

Depends on your league settings, can go either way. My main league first used "first come, first serve" then switched to "locked from 1pm on Sun until waivers run on Wednesday" and now we're on "locked until Free Agent Blind Bidding takes place."

Did you try actually picking someone up yesterday?

Yes a few teams in my league did. As soon as the game starts that the player is in they are locked until all the games are done. We used fanball last year and you could drop any player on your bench at anytime even during there game. We would like that setup again.thanks

Not sure as I'm glad it works the way it does.

What is the value in making it so that Sundays are a race to see who can get to a computer quickest if an injury occurs?

Oh I agree I would like to use the Blind Bidding process seems the most fair way. But it's how we have always did it and some people don't want to try the other way.
