wow, interesting thread....

freedom..... to take your hat off or not. if someone wants to leave it on, get over it. live your life, do what you think is right, leave everyone else alone. just because someone isn't as respectful as you would like, get over it. i'm sure there are a million things they would say about you as well.

i am grateful for all the men and women who fight for us, however.... i don't believe what we do is right. i think almost all our military are all trained killers. is it their fault they are over in iraq or anywhere fighting for the USA, no.... but i still think we're a bunch of damn bullies fighting the wrong war and wrong people. no wonder everyone hates americans.

i can see many sides of every post in this thread. there are old people posting who have seen a lot, there are teenagers posting who don't have a clue, there are middle aged people who have mixed views and emotions. we are a diverse group. we are entitled to our own opinions. back to the beginning.... do what you want, don't impose your beliefs on others. i'm vegan, have been for 3 years. my wife and i work with people for months before someone tells them we are vegan. people make such a big deal out of it. wanna know why we don't? we believe what we do it right. we believe that all creatures deserve love and a chance at a full life. well, that's our opinion. i never preach it to anyone. very much like my crazy step-brother who throws christianity out to everyone every freakin' day. leave me alone. if i think i want to be religious, i will. you pushing it on me just pisses me off and turns me off even more.

so, if someone wants to leave their hat on, just like the person who was going through chemo, leave them alone. do in your heart what you think is right and #### off, leave everyone else alone.

as for ESPN talking during the anthem, what do you expect from them? i didn't see it, don't know what happened, won't judge.

later.

What if I didn't stand?

Just do the right thing and go along with what our culture deems as respect. Stand, be quiet, and take your hat off. The anti-establishment crowd is actually ruining our freedoms: for example, do you think that people should be sued to remove an American flag in their yard? Well, they are. And certain schools demand kids not wear pro-American clothes as it may offend. WTF?
Yeah, that's kind of what America is all about, isn't it? Acting in a manner that suits other people and their concept of respect instead of your own? :lmao: If someone was preventing you from standing and taking your hat off, I'd totally agree with you. But no troops were harmed as a result of some guy not taking off his hat and singing a song written by a human being. GDP wasn't affected, nobody was hurt, oil prices didn't change as a result, children didn't cry and no patriotism was diminished. Everybody felt exactly the same afterward as they did before. The country survived.

I don't see why you complain that kids are told what to wear by the schools...as you support Americans telling other Americans what to do during a song. It just seems a little inconsistent.
Yeah, as it is inconsistent for the other gentleman to beg for free healthcare from imaginary lines drawn in the sand 300 years ago by an Indian killer. In this country, you're free to do what you want to do within reason. But if someone wants to disrespect the flag, they can do so. But it's also not against the law for me to think that that particular person or anyone else is an a##h0le ingrate.
Who said anything about free healthcare? Unless taxes don't count...
So you are saying that the person who puts in national healthcare will NOT hit us with a hefty tax increase then? There's your challenge. You pull that off, I'd vote for ya.

health care is 100% better in other 1st and often 3rd world countries, they dont wait at all compared to us.
There ya go. I'm sure you can get a nice cheap one way ticket too!
:goodposting: Honestly, GTFO :ptts:
He trusts our government, a government that is bleeding social security dry, enough to treat him and his family when they are ill, but is ready to bash that government and the people who take pride in their country. Wow.

Maybe you guys can get a "love it or leave it" chant going. I always loved that one... because everyone knows if you say you want to change something about your country you're anti-american. You know, like Susan B. Anthony. Or Martin Luther King Jr....

what do i care? if i'm patriotic and am standing, then i'm proud of what i stand for and my country. if you don't want to stand, why should it affect (effect?) me? seriously.
