EU warns repeat boosters weaken immune system (1 Viewer)

You guys crack me up: "I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Only one of the links in his original post was from a bat#### crazy conspiracy site."  :lmao:

Not my forum, not my call, but this is not how I would do it.
That's my feeling, too. If I were a moderator, I wouldn't want people using my forums to spread misinformation. But I'm also sympathetic to Joe not wanting to spend all of his time policing this stuff and deciding what's OK and what's over the line. And in the grand scheme of things, people posting this stuff on a magic football forum where most of the posters lean left probably isn't having all that big of an impact, especially compared to the same misinfo getting algorithmically amplified on Facebook, or in private WhatsApp chats, or on Fox News. Hopefully the more time they spend posting here to people who just roll their eyes and ignore them means less time influencing people whose health might actually be impacted.

A "top scientist".   Do we have ratings for these things?   What if 99% of other top scientists think this one is incorrect?
Well, he mat not be THE top scientist, but he's probably A top scientist.  First round talent?  Not sure.

I didn't check this guy out, but it always cracks me up when the "top scientist" they found for the article isn't even in that specialty field.   Hey we found a top scientist (he teaches physics) who thinks x, y, and z about covid!! ;)

You seem to be able to deny reality daily. If Gates or Zuckerberg didn’t pay for the propaganda you won’t read it. You might be angry too if your friends in the hospital agree with Joe Rogan and Dr Malone. I have had several losses due to this agenda. We all have.

Will you please provide me with Joe Rogan's medical credentials and educational achievements please?  Your's too while we are at it.

So is the idea of waiting on the booster a few months to have it peak ready for next variant without merit?

Asking for a friend.

You want the OG booster or the 1.1 booster?

You should probably wait for 1.2, but that wont be ready for 3 months after we identify the next dominant strain.

I’m lost, I got both Pfizer doses first half of last year.
All the boosters people are taking now were designed for the original strain.

Pfizer will have "1.1" ready by march which is supposed to be Omicron specific.

Moderna has also said they are developing an Omicron specific booster. I'm not sure about the date.

Pfizer and Moderna have both made claims about being able to produce variant specific boosters within 3 months after a strain is identified. So maybe waiting for the next strain that is more serious might be an option.

Where is the science that states that vaccines will weaken the immune system if taken to frequently?

Are they just guessing or has similar testing been done with other vaccines?
It’s theoretical at this point. There are a few vaccines for which repeated short-term exposure increased the risk of infection, and unsubstantiated concerns about ADE.

But like a lot of antivax threads, this is another way to justify inaction. I’d wager most of the guys hemming and hawing about getting shots every 4 months haven’t even received their first booster. More importantly, nobody is suggesting universal boosters at short intervals indefinitely.

Like the non-crazy article in the OP suggests, boosters should probably correspond with seasonal surges. Once pandemic spread relents, that may end up being boosters every fall, co-administered with the flu vaccine. And half the population will probably ignore the guidance.
