Homer's crime was very great

Great meaning large or immense

We use it in a pejorative sense

Time to take out the trash. But first I'm gonna have to ask you to leave.

Time to fertilize the lawn. A couple of 500lb bags aught a do.

I've failed you as a husband as a provider and at best I was a b+ dog. I'll understand if you want to sleep on the couch tonight.

Behold, the rarest of the rare, the mythological two-headed hound born with only one head. Ooh, and here, out of the mists of history, the legendary esquilax, a horse with the head of a rabbit and the body of a rabbit.

Krusty: I'm going to personally spit in every 50th Krusty Burger!

Homer: I like those odds!
What's this? Soviet boycott? US unopposed in most events. How does this affect our giveaway?

You personally stand to lose $44 million.

Barney: "Hey Moe, what'll ya give me for an AA chip?"

Moe: "Barney, that's a five minute chip. Eh, it's worth a Pabst."

These hand drawn episodes from the 90s look so much better than the computer drawn ones of now. Forgot how much I loved these.

Also, get off my lawn.

:classic:

"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins.

Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

Grampa, weren't you curious why you were getting checks for not doing anything?

I figured the Democrats were back in power.

Mr. Burns: What do you think, Smithers?

Smithers: I think women and seamen don't mix.

Mr. Burns: We know what you think. Young lady, you're hired!

Carl: Hey, I hear we're going to Ape Island.

Lenny: Yeah, to capture a giant ape. I wish we were going to Candy Apple Island.

Charlie: Candy Apple Island? What do they got there?

Carl: Apes, but they're not so big.

At 2 AM Central they showed "The City Of New York vs. Homer Simpson".

That episode was pulled from syndication after 9/11. I remembered Homer urinating in one of the towers, but had forgotten about Bart at Ellis Island yelling at a boat of immigrants: get out. America is all filled up.

Homer: Now, what do you have to wash that awful taste out of my mouth?

Street Vendor: Mountain Dew or Crab Juice.

Homer Simpson: BLUUURGGH! I'll take the crab juice.
Great shot of him looking down from the bathroom 100 stories up as he sees his car getting booted. "Why did I drink all that crab juice?"

“You sound like you’re ready to become your own boss in the exciting world of frame nudging! Yes, for a minimal franchise fee, you’ll receive a pair of straightening gloves, a canister of wall lubricant, and a booklet of the most commonly asked questions you will hear, including ‘Who are you?’ and ‘What are you doing here?’”

Dr. Hibbert: "Now, a little death anxiety is normal. You can expect to go through five stages. The first is denial."

Homer: "No way! Because I'm not dying!"

Dr. Hibbert: "The second is anger."

Homer: "Why, you little..."

Dr. Hibbert: "After that comes fear."

Homer: [cringing] "What's after fear? What's after fear?"

Dr. Hibbert: "Bargaining."

Homer: "Doc, you gotta get me out of this! I'll make it worth your while!"

Dr. Hibbert: "Finally, acceptance."

Homer: "Well, we all gotta go sometime."

Dr. Hibbert: "Mr. Simpson, your progress astounds me."

Welcome to Itchy and Scratchyland, where nothing can possib-lie go wrong. Uh, possibLY go wrong. That's the first thing that's ever gone wrong.

Marge gets a post card from Homer with a bikini clad girl on it that says "Wish you were her!" Marge says "How many of these is he gong to send me?"

Krusty: (Standing in front of his Krusty-O's cereal.)

Burns:(To Krusty, in the supermarket) "Excuse me, where are the Burns-Os?"

Krusty: "Forget it pops, they don't put nobodies on cereals."

Burns: (Eyeing a box of Count Chocula) "Hmm, I suppose these look enough like me..."

Kent Brockman: Kent Brockman at the Action News desk. A massive tanker has run aground on the central coastline, spilling millions of gallons of oil on Baby Seal Beach.

Lisa: [gasps] Oh, no!

Homer: It'll be okay, honey. There's lots more oil where that came from.

Didn't realize they killed off Maude Flanders. Any backstory on that? Rough way to go too.
Was sort of like a "Who shot Mr. Burns?" kind of stunt to generate interest and ratings. There was a big campaign around the "a favorite Simpsons character will die" angle.

Oh, and the voice actress (Maggie Roswell) for Maude was in a contract dispute.

Actress wanted to leave. Not on bad terms, but I think it was very time consuming for her especially since she was not an everyday character. They decided to kill her off as the best way to deal with her leaving. Again, I don't think any of it was bad terms.
