I've stayed fairly quiet about my "Father In Law" lately, with good reason. He and his daughter are no longer in my life.
The ex and I had somewhat of a rough breakup, but we smoothed things over fairly quickly. We don't speak or communicate much, but that's how we wanted to leave it.
As for the "FIL", I felt as though I should stop by his place and just have a short chat with him and say my thanks to his wife (who was always good with me), and say a respectful adios to him as well. So that's what I did.
Didn't call, and just drove by, fully expecting the both of them to be home.. At least the old man would for sure (for reasons I touched on in the other thread). They were both home.
The mom teared up and did what moms do... Tried to talk to me into working things out and sticking with it, but I told her it was very unlikely. The old man stayed pretty quiet. Poured me a drink and just stuck with that for the most part.
As I prepared to leave the old man followed me to the door, and walked with me to my car. Figured he was just seeing me off, and maybe give me a last few words... And he did. He told me he'd be stopping by in the coming days to pick up something he left around my house.
I asked him what/where it was, and he said he'd just come get it.
Now, I know for a damn fact he's rarely ever been to my house, and secondly he's never brought anything to me. Nor have I borrowed anything. I'm freaking the #### out about what he's talking about. I've mentioned in the past that he was a bad dude years back. He has been much better behaved these days, but this sounded ominous as #### to me.
Been searching high and low looking for a handgun or drugs or something... Every scenario going thru my head. Did he plant something and now he's gonna call the police? Was he just hiding something? Did he actually leave something of his and Im overreacting like a madman?
