Expert advice needed (1 Viewer)

12 team 5x5 Roto, non keeper league

Currently in 1st place with 85 pts, but falling steadily

BA 3rd

HR 9th

RBI 2nd

R 11th

SB 10th

K 1st

ERA 1st

WHIP 2nd

W 2nd

S 3rd

Current lineup (weekly submission)... :bag:

C Arencibia

1B Konerko (hurt???)

2B Turner (stop gap)

3B Dobbs (stop gap)

SS Castro (slumping)

OF Pence, Suzuki, Scott (slumping/hurt???)

DH Lee

Bench Uggla (pathetic so far), Wright DL, Holliday DL, Hafner DL, Kubel DL, Wells DL

SP Weaver, Pineda, Shields, Nolasco, Scherzer, Gonzalez

RP Nunez, Feliz, Gregg

(start 7 pitchers - any combo)

Questions...

Do I keep this roster intact and try to ride out the mess?

I am thinking of trying to pick up Eric Young (2B, OF) as a potential source of speed...Who the hell do I drop? Hafner? Scott? Kubel? Gregg (usually roll with 2 RP in lineup)?

Do I drop several of these injured/underachieving guys for waiver wire players in order to bolster SB, R and HRs...

Available on waivers in no particular order:

Morse

Moreland

Patterson

Espinosa

Headly

Callaspo

Carroll

Bartlett

Kennedy

Lilibridge

Trumbo

Willingham

Ibanez

I have been shopping around Pineda (although I hate to break up my pitching staff), but Jed Lowrie is about the best anyone has been willing to give up for him  No one wants to part with worthy 2B, SS, or 3B which is where I perceive my weaknesses currently lie.

Sorry for the long post. There is a lot to chew on here. Thoughts??? Ideas??? What direction would you try to go under these conditions?

Hafner, Kubel, Wells are all droppable in a 12 team league.

Morse is on fire, you should have picked him up last week, but he is still someone who should be rostered. I would also pick up Patterson or Ibanez.

Dont be afraid to drop the likes of Hafner/Kubel/Wells

moops is correct and the proof is in how RICH the free agent list is.....You are in a very shallow league - there will always be replacements available (although clearly better for OF, UT, and P)- LOOK at the top two on your list - these guys are rostered in almost ALL ten team leagues - What are they doing available in a twelve teamer?Okay here are some specific questions/suggestions/thoughts/.....

Konerko - nothing wrong with him - in fact he has been even better lately

Turner - okay but you would get much better production - HR/RBI - from Espinosa although the BA will be lower

Dobbs - Why are you playing him over Callaspo? or even Headley - guy is a part time player

Castro - Nothing wrong there

Scott - does have a sore shoulder playing through it but should NOT be in your lineup

Lee - Which Lee? frankly neither should be clogging up your DH slot when you could have Trumbo or Willingham or better there

Nothing wrong with your pitching staff (which is why you are doing so well) BUT Nolasco should be benched until he straightens out or he will kill you.

Get RID of the deadwood - Hafner and Wells can go and several I mentioned can be replaced

Get started NOW before Moreland and Morse disappear!
