I'm only going to go over the ones in flux. And quickly cause I don't have a lot of time.

Dallas:

Questions of whether Kitna finishes the season, and who will be back in (Romo or McGee). Dallas plays Washington this week which means they likely will be ahead. Cowboys playcalling for pass was extremely conservative in first half and did not open up until Dallas was trailing in the second. Kitna has always managed to produce fantasy numbers but I am worried that he will flop hard this game. Given uncertainty surrounding whether he will finish season, might be the week to drop if something intriguing is available.

Jacksonville:

Garrard responded after two straight weeks of suckage with a good game against Oakland at home. He travels to Indy this week and Garrard has been terrible on the road. Despite last week's points I would consider benching him for better options.

Tennessee:

Collins tore up Indy last week (244-3-0) and gets Houston at home this week. Houston gave up 235 and 2 to Flacco at home last week, and 302-2-1 to Vick when they traveled to Philly. Last matchup against Tennessee they blanked them 20-0 in Houston, with Tennessee starting Rusty Smith. Collins is old and unreliable but this matchup is hard to ignore.

SF:

Alex Smith came roaring back with a sweet game (255-3-0) but gets SD this week, who annihilated Croyle and Campbell past two weeks. I'd put Smith in their camp, so a terrible start this week, but could be playable week 16 @ STL.

Minny:

Favre ain't playing again, TJax sucks, and Joe Webb could start if Tjax can't and they don't bring in another QB. Only reason this is interesting is because Webb can play WR in yahoo leagues.

UPDATE: Minny has signed Patrick Ramsey, indicating they expect both Tarvaris and Favre to be inactive. May be GTD on starter as Ramsey holds edge on NFL experience, yet Webb is more dynamic and knows Vikes offense better.

Oakland:

Campbell just posted a great game (324-2-0) of QB1 numbers against Jacksonville, and gets a reeling Denver team at home this week, followed by home against Indy. Could be a good add for the rest of playoffs.

Washington:

Redskins saying they are considering resting McNabb but McNabb is saying he is fine and will play. My guess is McNabb starts, but this situation seems way too shaky to trust in the playoffs. Obviously if Grossman gets the start he is not worth a look in fantasy leagues.

Detroit:

Reports now indicate that Shaun Hill could very well be back for his week 15 game against the Bucs if he can show "zip and accuracy" this week. Hill was a solid starter with the Lions this year and could be a good plugin against the Bucs, who rank in the top half of the league against the pass. Link:

GB:

No one should be playing Flynn, and hopefully for Rogers owners he will be back either this week or next.

UPDATE: Beat writer expects Rogers to sit against NE wk 15

MIA:

Henne sucks. Look elsewhere.

I think that covers all situations in serious flux right now. Would love to hear opinions on this. From this list, I would

Sit:

Smith, Flynn, McNabb, Henne, Vikes QB (unless Webb starts he could be good flex at WR)

Start:

Collins, Campbell, Hill (if starting)

Not sure:

Kitna (waiting on more news about Skins QB situation)

I see no reason to not play Kitna this week.
The conservative game plan (the one they want to run) Dallas ran in the first half is enough to scare me in this matchup, especially with Washington at least considering conceding the game by starting Grossman. If McNabb plays I think he is a safer bet, but the possibility remains that the Boys run the ball with a lead. No concerns about that at all?

No, Washignton is terrible vs the pass. Plus Dallas V Washington games are always closely fought and tough. Kitna is ranked top 10 I believe by FBG sofar this week

The rankings are borderline useless at this point, which really sucks considering there are games on Thursday.

But you make good points about the Was-Dal rivalry. But Washington is just as bad against the run as against the pass, and if they play Grossman they won't be able to keep up at all. To me this comes down to Washington's QB. If I knew the Skins were going to play McNabb and let him try and win the game I would put Kitna in as a no-brainer. The fact that they are openly contemplating starting Rex says they aren't committed to winning this game, and Dallas could go up big early and run out the clock against their porous D.

Maybe I am overthinking this. Last four QBs against them:

Freeman for 266-1-0

Eli 166-0-1

Favre 172-0-0

Young/Collins 227-0-1

Freeman gives some hope but the last four have not yielded huge QB points. Of course, those come after the Skins basically gave Vick the best QB game in NFL history. Tough one.

Do you think he's a better play than Collins this week?

I am considering starting Collins over Flacco. I may be crazy.
Me too. Having a REAL hard time with it though. Not sure what it means when Flacco owners who have gotten consistently solid production from him all season (since week 2) are contemplating benching him for KERRY COLLINS in the playoffs. I really don't want to put too much stock in match-ups, but these are tough to ignore.

Rolling with Collins over Orton/Bradford/Fitzpatrick. I posted this in the Orton thread as my main reasoning:

Texans Passing D

- worst in the NFL with 29 passing TD’s allowed

- worst in the NFL with 279.9 passing yards/game allowed

- 3rd worst in the NFL with 27.3 points/game allowed

I am rolling with Fitzpatrick this week over Henne and A Smith. There are no WW options available so I am in a bind.

A Smith has a terrible match up was considered since the 49ers may be playing from behind all game and garbage points are still points.

Henne is terrible and is not being considered.

Why are we considering that Kitna might not be finishing the season? You're losing me here... the only way I see him finishing the season is if Romo comes back. He hasn't been a stud, but he's certainly proven his worth as a backup QB for Dallas.

Just a lot of news flying around about it

Jon Kitna-QB- Cowboys Dec. 15 - 9:19 am et

The Cowboys will stick with Jon Kitna at quarterback until they reach a decision on Tony Romo (collarbone).

With the Cowboys officially out of playoff contention, some have called for giving Stephen McGee a look. Owner Jerry Jones values finishing a season strongly, though, so the Cowboys will stick with the player that gives them the best chance to win. Romo could possibly be back for the final two games.

But whats that got to do with this week??

I thought I was pretty clear in being down on Kitna for this week since the Skins are contemplating conceding the game by starting Grossman. If they start Grossman Dallas wins comfortably and probably doesn't even need to pass to do so. I can't imagine the Skins defense trying when their coach/management essentially throws the game by starting Grossman over McNabb.

Therefore Kitna's matchup this week is questionable at best, and it seems that his status as starter for the remainder of the season beyond this week is questionable as well.

I'm thinking Collins as well over Flacco. Might as well take a chance on the big upside Collins presents in this game instead of the relieable 20 pts Flacco will give us.

For those thinking Collins, this has to make you feel at least a little better about rolling with him this week:

Mario Williams-DL- Texans Dec. 15 - 3:02 pm et

Texans placed RE Mario Williams on injured reserve with an aggravated sports hernia, ending his season.

He finishes with 8.5 sacks and one fumble forced, but a career-low 28 tackles. Williams, still just 25 years old, has emerged as one of the most dominant defensive ends in football, but extremely inconsistent and, ultimately, ineffective play across the rest of Houston's line has at times hindered his ability to take over games. Williams will likely head for offseason surgery on the sports hernia. He'll miss the first, second, and third games of his five-year career. 2011 will be a contract season for Williams.

For those that couldn't land Collins, anybody considering Bradford? KC hasn't been that tough on Defense of late.

I agree with this. The Cowboys offense has been very pass conservative. They only really open it up when they are behind and I don't see them being behind in this one. I would expect a large dose of Jones and Choice . I think Kitna could get 200 and 1-2 TD's so he's servicable but with limited upside. I'm going with Schaub ahead of him because the Texans always need to throw to stay in games.

So many people are talking about starting him over legit players that I suspect a complete dud coming. That's usually what happens. All there needs to be now is a "I'm starting Collins over X" thread and the jinx will be full blown.

Also, Vikes worked out Patrick Ramsey today, but no word of him getting an offer. CMIIAW, but if they sign Ramsey they would have to deactivate both Webb and Favre for both Ramsey and TJax to be available, right?

It's Kitna or Collins for me...I picked them both up on the WW.

I had Cassel as my backup to Rodgers. Now there are rumors that Cassel may play.

I was leaning towards Kitna, but you're right about the conservative play calling.

You're making this Kitna vs. Washington situation too complicated, imo. If you're thinking about starting Kitna, don't even worry about who is starting at qb for Washington. It's irrelevant, since the Dallas offense is going to gameplan for the Washington defense, not qb.Here's what you need to know:- the Redskins are going to play hard against Dallas, like they virtually always do- the Redskins pass and run defense is equally terrible, imo- this isn't going to be a shootout- Carlos Rogers was missing for at least a couple of those games and was back last week - Landry was just put on IR which means their pourous run defense isn't going to get any better- Also, Collins didn't play the skins. Rusty Smith came in after Vince was knocked out in the Titans game- The Skins generally play better on the road than they do at home- Dallas inexplicably abandoned the running game during their first meeting. Did they learn their lesson for this game?My opinion? Garrett is going to be smart enough to pound the ball all game vs. Washington and not make the same mistake he did in the first meeting. This will likely be a low scoring game with both teams running the ball and grinding down the clock. Personally, I would rank Kitna in the mid-teens this week, and not as a QB1. HTH.
