Falcons at Panthers (1 Viewer)

Atlanta looks like the most "one-and-done" team in the NFL right now. They don't look like they can beat anyone as we approach the playoffs.
And yet they've beaten every team they've played. Including a humiliation of the Saints in the return game which was historic for Drew Brees

Go figure. It's hard to ignore their record but I don't think this team will go very far in the playoffs.

Terrible call by the official on the 2-point conversion. What were they looking at? Ball never moved. And then an equally horrific replay review by the referee. Par for the course this year.

You can't say they've looked good doing it. They pull a rabbit out of the hat at the end of games against bad teams. Won't be very many of those at playoff time. :lmao: pointing to beating the Saints at home as a big win

Most of the teams won't even clinch for another 3 weeks, the Pack got blown out by 28 points, the 49ers lost to the Rams and the Bears are getting smacked by the Vikings (who have lost 6 times as many games this year as the Falcons) today.

Are the Vikings a one and done team? Are the Bears? We don't even know if they'll make the playoffs.

Meanwhile Matt Ryan just keeps the 4th quarter comebacks happening every week and the Falcons will clinch the top seed either today or next week.

Saints game was the only loss. Drew Brees had thrown a TD in only his last 54 games coming in. Then he had 5 picks for the worst game in his 12 year career. The rest of the games through to week 17 are pretty much meaningless at this point for Atlanta. They only matter for the rest of the NFC who have all won less games and are fighting for a first round bye

Back your team man, I get it.

What a league. Defense holds Saints to 13 and gets 5 INTs and then turns around and give up 30 and makes Newton look like a HOF
Saints without Payton aren't really "the Saints". There's a reason why Joe Vitt doesn't have to schedule time to polish his coach of the year trophies.
 They average 26.8 points a game which is tied for 5th best. Scored half their average and it's not like they got t that average with Payton and are now without.

Offense is just one part of the game. edit to remove some snark.also, there are things like clock management to take into consideration. All kinds of things a very good head coach controls (down to getting his ENTIRE team prepared each week) that you need to take into consideration

Offense is just one part of the game. If you want to know more about defense and special teams, Google is your friend.
Saints defense held Atlanta to below their average given up and below Atlanta's average per game. I obviously am missing your point so please spell it out. Not sure worth exploring though, if you say Atlanta gives up 30 to either the Saints or Panthers and 13 to the other, guessing 9 out of 10 and maybe more are saying Saints get the 30. That was all I was referring to. It's a funny league. Who guesses Brees throws 5 INTs to this defense and Newton throws 0 the next week.
