Brian Brohm - 2008Brady Quinn - They need a good backup for when Vick goes down.Schwab was only good for another year and they can tie Quinn up as Vick's backup for 7 years at a much lower salary than Schwab would have wanted.
Then why move up in the first? Brown would have been there at 10. Now they would have to pay him #8 money when they could have gotten an extra 3rd instead of moving up to spots. They wanted to ensure L. Landry. He's been moving up. I see M. Bush with one of the second rounders. Not only because of Petrino, but because he would make a great duo with Norwood in the future. With Dunn around he has the time to completely heal.First off- the decision maker is McKay NOT Petrino. Rich hired him to be another yes man like Mora. McKay does recognize to run Petrino's system- he needs Levi Brown. Horn is rostered. Norwood is a future star and Dunn is still rostered. 4 first round wr busts including Peerless and Lelie and owner Artie is a Bulldog, not a Jacket. Williams is going to move to safety. Going OL gentlemen. Finally.
Falcons now use the Bronco theory on RB's- the correct one- draft em low. Duo's last one year. One guy on the way up and one out the door or injured. Falcons have Norwood and Dunn and 23 other positions to fill including kickers. I grow weary on fantasy advocates clouding their perception that the game revolves only around high quality RB's and WR's.Then why move up in the first? Brown would have been there at 10. Duo's last one year? Bush and Duece? Having a back system like that can really open the offense. So, you don't see how a power back can really boost the offense of this team to a head coach that likes the power game? They have plenty picks, they just picked up another second rounder. They can use one on Bush and I think they will.Falcons now use the Bronco theory on RB's- the correct one- draft em low. Duo's last one year. One guy on the way up and one out the door or injured. OK, I knew someone was going to get to this. I think the whole surgery thing is bogus. Why? Because this late after a broken fibula there has been enough time to see healing gone wrong and such. I honestly think, though pure speculation, that they are dropping his vlaue to make sure he is there when the Falcons draft in the second. There were mocks that had Bush going higher in the second. JMHO.Why use a second on Bush when he can be picked up in the 3rd or 4th round? So, you don't see how a power back can really boost the offense of this team to a head coach that likes the power game? Atlanta had one of the best ground games in the entire NFL, but is missing a power back. The o-line seems fine to me. Duece still has time on his contract and I think he liked his production last year, plus he did not have a lot of wear and tear. Plus the Saints are still waaaaay under the cap.McKay is calling the shots and then Artie Blank. Petrino is the new yes man. If he can coach- he will have to make do right now with what makes sense. Pro's have a shorter memory than the collegiate game. The RB will save me theory is overblown without an O line. As far as New Orleans RB situation goes- Duece is probably expendable now. Last time I checked it was a SALARY CAP league.
Atlanta changed blocking schemes"Power Back" is not an official NFL positionAsk any runner if he likes to give up the limelight/ time/ $ / to a rookie off the recordThe cap is for the other 21 starting positions plus kickers and special teamersAtlanta had one of the best ground games in the entire NFL, but is missing a power back.
