Falling Skies (1 Viewer)

Not surprising after pushing the reset button at the end of last season, but the season premier was a mess.

A jumble of seemingly disconnected stories and some strange changes in alien tactics/plotlines. The skitter prison looks possibly interesting, but the Ben, Maggie, & the hybrid daughter storyline looks especially bad.

I have to agree. I've really liked this show as a fun summer series, but this premier was a disaster.

Another vote for the season premier being a convoluted eff-up.

I can't even follow it well. Is the re-education camp the same as the one where the hybrid girl is in charge? Or different?

I'm not real sure I'm going to keep up with this one. I have way too much stuff to watch now and this one was never more than back ground noise for me after the first few episodes. Last episode didn't do anything to change that.

Apparently I do not remember last season at all because I am so lost on what the hell is happening.

Watching this on amazon prime now, on episode 5. Enjoying it so far, but was it worth keeping up with?

A lot of wasted potential. The first three seasons at least had some good/entertaining stuff that showed some promise. This last (4th) season was a total cluster with an abrupt change in direction and some really terrible plot lines (which is saying something.)

5th and final season is airing in a few weeks, may not even bother finishing it out. Will probably dvr it and watch a few when I've got nothing better to do.

For me, I mainly watched it because it ends up being a dead time for shows for me. Never hated it but never had to watch it either. I think the idea is better than the execution.

I did enjoy Last Ship and I am looking forward to that starting up again for season 2.

Also liked Last Ship as well. Looking forward to season 2.

I was quite excited about it in S1 and S2. For me, it lost its way when they killed off Karen (disclaimer: I am pretty much infatuated with Jessy Schram). S4 was an unmitigated disaster; it wasn't a chore to watch exactly, but it had so many awful sci-fi tropes and more plotholes than you could drive a jeep with a rack-mounted machine gun through. Not sorry to see that S5 is the end.

Agree with Chad that I thought The Last Ship was really, really good and am looking forward to seeing where they take it.

Holy ####, there will be 5 seasons of this drek? I gave up mid season 2. Horrible show
So we can spoil it for you? :P

Seriously though, it was one of the only real sci-fi shows on, so I watched and pretty much enjoyed it for what it was. I didn't expect it to be anything more than a summer show, and it had some major flaws. But it was still a fun show to watch.

You and I both called killing off Karen was a mistake. We weren't wrong.

No doubt. :hifive:

Holy crap, this is season 5? I think I watched the first 2 and wasn't into season 2 so I never really watched 3 or 4.

Echoing sentiment above, looking forward to Last Ship, hopefully it keeps going well in its season 2.

I'm a few weeks behind watching Hawaii 5-0, and I'm watching the episode from 11/6 tonight. Maggie from Falling Skies in a bikini near the beginning ... :excited:
