I wish I had the guts to bet more. My 4th great week in a row. I am in the top 10 of all my double ups and cashing in 3 out of 6 GPPs, with a chance of cashing in a fourth if the Monday night game is high scoring. Serious question, how do you guys bet so much without getting nervous? I seriously go over all my lineups with a magnify glass every week from 11 am until 1pm and am beyond nervous that I have made a mistake.

I will have $100 going today, all in $2-$5 wagers.

You can spread your exposure so much, and the potential payoff is so big in GPPs, I have no idea why any fantasy player bothers with traditional wagers. Why risk $100 on one game, when you can have 20 different lineups that costs less, and any of them can cash for more than $100??

mFor me the key is diversity. I started this year in week 3 -- never did dailies before. Started wagering about $20 a week til I started to feel comfortable with it. Basically did 1 lineup for cash games and had 1 GPP throw away for $2. After 3-4 weeks, I had crept up $60 or so a week and diversified to 2 cash game lineups. Now I'm up to about $200 a week and 4 cash lineups -- 1 Thursday, 3 Sunday. I'm in 44 contests tho, lots of $2 and $5 double ups.

I also do matrices, which are great for the risk adverse. I highly recommend them for newbies. $10 to play basically 20 $0.50 H2H. Unless you finish 21st you win something back. You need to finish 8th to be in the black. The nice thing is you get to see 20 cash lineups to help you figure roster construction out.

I just viewed my initial investment ($200) as a sunk cost. I never intended to re-up if I busted out. I've made money so I've been able to keep playing and up my wagering. I never have too much wrapped up in 1 guy -- my cash lineups are typically built very differently. This week I had ODB in all 4, so I was more nervous than usual, but that's odd for me.

I used to get nervous, but once I started playing with winnings, I got less nervous. I am playing $200-300 per week right now, but it is all winnings on the year. If I were to completely tank a week and lose everything I had in play, I would tone it back again because I would be down to "my money". I go about it as this is very fun and at this point I am not out anything toher than time. Hope that helps.

Primarily all of my money is in 50/50s and double ups at the $2 and $5 level. I only have about $30 a week in GPPs and they are $2 and $5 as well.

I do not invest a lot in doing these daily leagues. I enjoy the challenge of putting together a good lineup and put about $10-20 each week is all, depends on the money I have in my bankroll. I've been sort of up and down this year each week where 1 week I'll build $10-$20 initial up to $40-50 then lose $30-40 the next week leaving at me at myy breakeven again. Am I a low stakes player? Absolutely and even though I don't play many contests, it's fun for me and who knows, maybe I'll win 10,000 one day doing it this simple low risk way.

I doubt I'll go and start betting more than that a week.

50/50s and double ups aren't terribly exciting, but they are the "safest" bet by far. I use my double up lineups in a few low-dollar triple up and quintuple up contests, which tend to give me a little more juice if they do well.

Swept the Sunday only contests for a gross of $222, will see how I do tomorrow night. Matthews, Moncrief and Hilton hurt me this week, but the Matthews goose egg does not bother me because my opponent in my local league had Matthews going tonight and I was only up by 6 but was able to escape with the win and go on to the championship.

Looks like another big week... +$220 on the 1PM/Day only games and cashing on most lineups that are still live and many have some combo of Black Unicorn and M. Wilson to go.

Increased wagering this week to probably around $1400 and I'm even cashing on tournaments these days. Nothing more than $5 in GPPs though.

If you're curious as to my breakdown, I usually have 2-3 guys I'm completely in on per week and this week was...

D. Anderson/JFF (probably 95% of lineups split between the two), Whitehurst next week?

ODB Jr, 99.5% of lineups

Bell, probably close to close to 85% of my lineups

M. Wilson gave such salary relief

TE, most either Gronk or Black Unicorn

Chiefs D was 50% of my lineups the rest split between Ravens/Panthers

Once Julio scratched, I put in either Roddy or Harry D. in probably at least 75% of lineups.

Still having issues doing consistently well on DK though... Did hit with ODB Jr (100% of lineups), Hill, Dez, Harry, on some lineups though. JFF killed me there.

For events under History, or Live if you wanted, copy from "Entry History/Live" to the bottom right where it says "Showing" the # of lineups. Copy/Paste into OpenOffice and use the sum function on the entry fee/winnings columns.

Same thing downloading the .csv for under History and summing them.

Edit: Unfortunately it's pretty impossible to find the 1pm/day only/etc splits in the Live Events on the web. Hopefully they'll have a good Andriod app if the iOS is so good.

I'm wired more for the cash game approach for sure. Back when I was a pretty avid poker player I was the same way. Grinder by nature. Buddy of mine told me once that was my biggest flaw in FF -- guys I tend do roster are low-variance guys who likely won't blow up.

oh defintely... with GPP line-ups I play guys like Julius Thomas, Markus Wheaton, Moncrief, Brandon Oliver, etc. But in cash line-ups I play the obvious ones like Harry Douglas, Roddy White, Derek Anderson, Kenny Stills, etc.

I follow a VERY strict bankroll management system and it has done very well for me. My initial deposit was $20 through this site (to get the free subscription). I doubled that the first week and again the next week to $80. Once I got to around $200 I started to read more and more at Rotogrinders.com, learning about bankroll management.

I'm up to $3,900 now (going into yesterday's games) without winning any significant GPP's. Basically I just grind out H2H's and 50/50's. Each night in NBA I have 10% of my bankroll in play and each week in NFL I have 20% in play.

I then break it down exactly as follows, not a dollar more, not a dollar less.

H2H = 55%

Double Ups & 50/50's = 35% (I do mix in a few triple ups)

3/5 man leagues = 2.5%

5/10 man leagues = 2.5%

GPP's = 5%

Since then I have never went past my % limit. Last week I did terrible, but since I was strict on gambling only 20%, it didn't kill me.

My way takes a TON of patience, but it's much less stressful once you get to higher amounts. So many of my friends used to say, "But I don't want to only have $75 on the line, I want to bet more!" Well, they are now jealous that I have over $700 in play on a Sunday.

This is basically what I do, not that I'm the guy you should be copying for GPPs. My allocation being so focused on cash games mandates that I focus on those lineups to the potential detriment of my GPP lineups.

had him in a couple Sunday-only 50/50's, one of which I scored 166.98....sadly, that same lineup was not in any of my GPPs.

Rode a variety of combos containing Andersoon/Beckham/Bryant/Olsen/Bell/Douglas to a very profitable weekend, as I will cash in almost all of the GPPs I played, but could have been exceptionally better if Sanchez/McCoy/Matthews hadn't been sprinkled in some of the $25 entries.

Sounds like you've got a good thing going here, so take this with some salt, but I've found that H2H is only useful if you are a "one lineup" kind of player. In this case, H2H is crucial for limiting your downside in the event that your lineups are below 50th percentile, in which case you'll strike out entirely on 50/50s and doubles.

OTOH, if you play multiple lineups, I've found that H2Hs are unnecessarily low-return. I usually play 3-5 regular sunday lineups, 2-3 1pm, Sunday only, and 3-4 Thursday lineups. With this variation, my worst weeks have been something like down 20-25%.

Just my two cents but if you convert that H2H into 50/50s and diversify with lineups such that no player is in more than a certain % of your lineups (for me it's between 50 and 75% to mitigate injury risk), you should be able to boost returns by about 10-20% with limited downside.

I'm really bummed that there's only a few weeks of the season left. Realistically, week 16 is the last stable week, 17 is a toss up, and then the wildcard and divisional rounds will be quite tough, with the conference championships even tougher. Will have to really scale back there due to the limited number of games.

Might have to turn to NBA... now that Phenoms is bust, I may transition entirely to daily.

Forgot I had Bennett too. Are you playing mostly GPP or cash? I usually play almost all cash 'lineups' and put about $30-50 down per lineup, mostly on 50/50s and doubles, with trips and quints mixed in, and a few $1-2 tourneys on top to juice returns. yesterday I hit 1st in a $1 x 250 player league for a sweet return of $50. On the same lineup, a different $1 x 250 league only ended about 6th for $15 on that $1.

Hows your return looking for the year? My $250 into about $1500 is sitting at 500%.

On DK, I started with 250 but barely am up at all, right about $400 depending on a few plays tonight. That's with about $60 in deposit bonus counted. Close to shutting it down to get my entry back... just not worth it. Swim with the fish on FD, IMO.

FYI, despite mixing in Manziel and Sanchez with Anderson, I'm currently up about 80%, and I've got fairly heavy amounts of Wilson and Graham, lesser amounts of Stills and Forte tonight.

Currently sitting on about $1400 after starting the year with $250. But I didn't really get it going until about week 5. In any case, some of the returns around here are making me feel inadequate! lol seriously nice work, $20 in $4k, $40 into $950, that's awesome.

I'm really bummed that there's only a few weeks of the season left. Realisticly, week 16 is the last stable week, 17 is a toss up, and then the wildcard and divisional rounds will be quite tough, with the conference championships even tougher. Will have to really scale back there due to the limited number of games.

Might have to turn to NBA... now that Phenoms is bust, I may transition entirely to daily.

Will have to look into Daily NBA... even though I hate NBA basketball. I'll learn to love it if I can make money with it.

This. I hate NBA as well. I'm not sure I could get into it daily wise. What about MLB? Are there more people playing daily MLB or NBA?

I love fantasy baseball, but the few times I've tried baseball DFS it wasn't for me. Just seemed like the biggest crapshoot every single day. And you have to be available the hour before contest start time, or don't bother. Players resting, weather, etc.

Forgot I had Bennett too. Are you playing mostly GPP or cash? I usually play almost all cash 'lineups' and put about $30-50 down per lineup, mostly on 50/50s and doubles, with trips and quints mixed in, and a few $1-2 tourneys on top to juice returns. yesterday I hit 1st in a $1 x 250 player league for a sweet return of $50. On the same lineup, a different $1 x 250 league only ended about 6th for $15 on that $1.

Hows your return looking for the year? My $250 into about $1500 is sitting at 500%.

On DK, I started with 250 but barely am up at all, right about $400 depending on a few plays tonight. That's with about $60 in deposit bonus counted. Close to shutting it down to get my entry back... just not worth it. Swim with the fish on FD, IMO.

Mostly cash. I play almost all 3 player leagues (when I can find decent matchups). $2-$25 games. I also roll in some 2X and 3X especially when I can't find good 3 player league matchups. I'll cherry pick a few H2H games each week. Then just like you I'll get in on a few $1-$2 tourneys.

Started the year with $188. If all goes well tonight I'll be sitting at about $1,900

Need Forte and Wilson to go big tonight in a couple of my line-ups , and Brees and Stills go off in a couple others or it will be a very crappy weekend..

Bad weekend for me too, I'm down about 20%. Once I saw how popular Anderson was in the Thursday GPPs I put Manziel in a few more of my Sunday lineups. Bad mistake. I didn't deposit a whole lot and since week 17 is a crapshoot, I might throw my entire roll into GPPs this weekend instead of saving it for next season. Go big or go home basically.

I'm the opposite. My fanduel account is at $100 after starting with $25. Whereas, my draftkings account should settle in at around $200 after tonight, after also starting with $25 and withdrawing $400 last week.
