Fanduel Week 6 (1 Viewer)

Hopkins. Evans and Nelson have tough corners blanketing them limiting their ceiling.

If the rest of the LU has a contrarian play or two, I would probably just stick with Hopkins.  If it is fairly chalky, I would maybe think about Evans.  Of the first 2 with the bad matchups, I think Winston is more likely to keep peppering Evans with targets than Rodgers is with Nelson.
I agree but I have a feeling Nelson has a big game for some reason. It's a mix of chalk (Hunt, Gronk, Atl) and not chalk (McCown, Kearse, Perine). Hopkins is logically the right call.

Couple podcasts kept bringing up that Hopkins has a surprisingly unfavorable matchup as well.  Probably the PFF one, as they usually talk about the ratings they have for their players.
Interesting on Hopkins. Makes me think that Griffin might be a stronger play than I thought and I’ve been high on him along week.

I’m definitely pulling my McGuire that I have riding in my Thursday GPP.  So many good rb matchups this week that I’m struggling to settle in on a few.

I’m really liking Desean Jackson as a GPP play as well. As we all know he’s super fast and he’ll be covered by a slow CB who has been burned for multiple long TDs this year.  With Mike Evans getting the Patrick Peterson coverage and Brate drawing attention in the middle, I see a couple 1 on 1 bomb situations coming up for Jackson.

I should have written what they were saying down, as I honestly don't remember who they were talking about.  Just stood out that they said he shadowed Green and did a good job, but Hopkins should still get peppered enough for cash, but it might limit his gpp upside a tad.

Him and Humphries could be looked at - similar to Agholor and T.Smith were plays last week.  Peterson funnels action to the other WRs.

Completely agree and have him in a few GPP's

What do we know about the Saints Rookue CB that is getting good reviews?  Does he lock down on Tate so Marvin becomes a good play?

or is he still a rookie CB playing in against a gun slinger this making Tate the better play?

I'm fading Freeman.  This feels like a Coleman game and at a minimum a lot of both guys second half. I expect them run a bunch and probably plan to try and keep both fresh throughout. Just my feeling.

Thats not to say he won't score well... Just think Coleman for the money is the better play if using a Falcons RB.
Called this one so far...

Karma.... You called it best.

I played Coleman and Kamara to save money for D. Hop, and M. Thomas. Well I think you can safely say that was a waste and now all the guys that played Gurley, Bell, Hunt etc... Will be crushing me later.

I have done very well over the last year plus with mid range wrs. I will be going back to that next week. Wrs are too easy to take away.

Depends who you paid up and down for. Someone who went Ingram and AB might be excited, but not people who paid down and did Hopkins.

Like you said, I usually have more luck paying up for qb,  rb, and te.  Too many times a decent cb or game script can take out a stud wr.

Total blood bath for me this week - WR's are killing me this year,

I have to hope that CJA has relatively low ownership [which I kinda doubt] and to put up about 3X value to hit my cash LU.

I didn’t roll a whole lot out there, but had a $1 Gpp score 160- swapped Watson out for Alex smith. Likely get about $8 out of it. Have a couple that can still hit the cutoff with Hilton/deN. All in all I’ll be up a couple bucks it looks like.

Was going Denver all week in my survivor pool (down to 3 ppl) and switched to Atlanta. $;@@$&!!!

I am 5-10 points behind the payout line in all of my 50/50 contests.  CJ Anderson and Denver D still going, but nearly a half gone...looking like trouble for me this week.

Won some this week actually. Nothing great, but min-cashed on all of my McCown stacks. The horrible call that stole ASB's last TD cost me some cash across the board. I had a lot of Hogan in those stacks which was an anchor. Hit my cash lineup in all 50/50 and 2x but whiffed on the 3x and leagues.

Seems like every rb I considered but decided not to use blew up. I took some low $ head to heads against some analyst types and they all had Ingram, who touts were saying wasn't as great a play because he doesn't get tds and was splitting carries.

Anyway, I ended up within $2 of breaking even on like $120. Live to fight another day.

I ran into a bunch of H2Hs this week with people with the RG logo and other dfs sites for their pic.  I only look for people with max of 4 contests, so I am sure they are smarter than I am and keep releases games all throughout the day to reel in the fish like me who are trying to avoid the names with 40 contests.

Down another $22, so basically cleaned out for the season and back to playing a few bucks a week.  100% turn from the success that I had last year.

Won't happen but with DK capping the huge players for gpps, it would be lovely if they kept them out of the $1 and $2 stuff altogether.

Positive week, though Sunday night disappointments from CJA and Broncos D kept it from being a huge one.

  • Watson, Freeman/Ingram, Hopkins/Thielen/Louis, Gronk, Hopkins, Broncos - 126.1

Cashed 50/50, 2x, 3x.  Just missed 5x and 100 man lines by a couple of points. Ingram, Gronk huge for this lineup.  Going into SNF with 120.1 thought I would be getting those quints no problem

[*]Ryan, Fournette/CJA,  Julio/Crabtree/Landry, Griffin, Lutz, Ravens - 115.72

  • Cashed at 50/50s, 2x, missed 3x, 5x, 100. Almost got talked off my Ryan/Julio play but stuck with it, not to much success.  Problem didn't end up being that the Falcons got up too big, but the opposite.  Weird game and big deviation from Vegas expectations wrt total and spread.  Falcons/Patriots next week so you know we're going back to the well, but something is clearly off in Atlanta.  Fournette and Ravens kept this afloat

Wins bring me back about even on the year but it's been a slog.  Onto w7.

If you used Dodd's posted cash lineup you're sitting at 128.2 with Walker yet to play.

The IVC came through for me in most of my cash lineups.  Scored 157, 139, and 123.  14 in and 17.10 out in cash.

GPP continues to be a waste of my time.  $11 in and $0 out.  Had Anderson and the Jaguars in most of those lineups.  Also went big on Saints/Lions so the all of the ST/Def touchdowns messed that up.  I had Ingram in cash and all of the WRs in GPP.  My stacks of Brees/Thomas crashed and burned.  My Stafford/Tate stacks were looking great until Stafford decided that instead of garbage points, he was going to turn the ball over a bazillion times.  11 in and 0 out in GPP.

Overal - $25 in and $17 out.  I know I could grind to a profit by playing only cash however it's boring.  The GPPs are a losing cause but they provide a lot of entertainment value to me.

Of course I got away from using this as much the last couple weeks.

Mostly laziness and not using it properly.  Probably need to change that, as I clearly don't know as much as these guys.

Had a pretty good week to date mostly due to taking down a $10 100 player league ($250) with a LU of Palm/Gordon/McKinnon/AB/KA/DThom/EEngram/Lutz/Den scoring 158.32

Main slate cash LU scored 117.5 and the $2 DBLU cash line was 118.30, had 20 entries so it could have been a really good week

GPPs that cashed

$5 120.24 cashed $15

$10 mini scored 92.32 for $30

$5 200K entries scored 125.42, 131.94, 143.04 and 158.32 to cash $10, $10, $10 and $25

Min cashed several $2 minis

Overall $265 in $345 out.

Still have Thur-Mon cash LU with RMath tonight sitting at 106.4 and the cash line is at 117(10 entries)

have a 200K Thur GPP $4 sitting at 121.5 that's done and the cash line is at 119.66, looks like I will lose that

and I have a 50K $33 Sun-Mon night GPP sitting at 58.64($80) with Murray/Moncrief/RMath/Succop left that could pay well

I'm a firm believer in building my own cash lineups first, then seeing what the IVC has to say. Usually they generally like what I come up with, which makes sense since their site informs most of my decision-making. But sometimes they're high on a guy I haven't considered at all or vice versa. That's when I have to dig a bit.

Hey, I'm new to this site just found this forum.  Do you all ever play the Mon-Thurs contests?  I've been playing all season and always seem to be close to a good payout but I'm off by about 3 players sometimes 2.  I just cant get my stacks right.  Anyone have any luck with this slate?

I very rarely cash a small slate.  0 clue how people have success with these, but would love to hear people's strategy.

Podcast I listen to said a big strategy is leaving $ on the table and getting the #2 and 3 wrs in there.  I think their stat was that over 50% of the time the #1 wr isn't the top scorer on the team, but a lot of LUs mash in 3 top wrs b/c it feels weird to leave 1k+ left on the lineups.

I have success with them by playing both sides, assuming it's a 2 game slate. Choose both QBs form the game you feel will score the most

stack that QB with a # WR and/or a TE, pay up for RBs, take the kicker at home and play the Def at home in the other game unless there is a chalk def playing.

this has done well for me
