Is there any known benefit to starting your WR and TE from the same team versus your opponent from that same team? Is it a waste of positions and points or can it provide a benefit in the form of cancelling out your opponents QB points? For example: starting your WR and TE for Dallas versus your opponent who is starting Tony Romo?

The cancel out theory (which doesn't really work like the name implies) was at one time hotly debated here and other places on the innerwebs.

Start your best players. Focus on what little you have control over (WDIS). I would actually advocate ignoring your opponents lineup altogether - it makes for more enjoyable Sundays when you're not constantly knashing your teeth.

"Awesome, that 25 yard TD pass was 5 points for my QB! Dangit, that was to my opponents WR, he just got 9.5 in PPR."

No upside to doing that to yourself. Also, to reiterate, the cancel out theory...doesn't. Just start your best guys.

Is there any known
Nope, this has never been thought of before, and there certainly aren't already dozens of threads asking this same question.
At least it wasn't a thinly-veiled WDIS thread.
Haha... :goodposting: to both replies. But you do limit your upside starting both but I'd think you'd have steadier production. Personally, I like to start a QB/RB or a QB/K from the same team if it is a potent offense. People strive for consistent production here. To me, that is a really easy way to do it. You aren't going to get 3 TDs from each of them or 20 points from the kicker on the same week that your QB goes off, but if the QB can't score in the red zone then at least you'll get some kicker points.
