Fantasy team that broke your heart in the playoffs (1 Viewer)

Curious to see other rosters of fantasy teams that came up short in the playoffs and the bad beat story behind it. Here is mine. First place money was 2k+. I went 12-1 during the season and outscored the league by a large margin. Just needed 10 points from Peterson to advance. When I got the news Peterson went inactive Monday night, I knew it was over. I will never forgive you All Day.

Finished the season with a 11-2 record and the no. 1 seed in the playoffs. I scored the second highest points this week . . . unfortunately I played the guy that scored the highest for the week.

:hot:

This year was simply disappointing... i dominated the regular season, posting a 11-2 record with a first round bye and came up short in the conference final... i had ADP plugged in since i was 100% sure that he would play and all previous reports hinted that he was a GO against the bears... then, 1 hour before the game started he was listed as OUT... i have Gerhart as a handcuff but since i live in germany and had to go to work on tuesday i was not able to get up in time (would have been 2am here) and make the change... needless to say, even if i had Gerhart plugged in i still would have lost by 1 (!!!) point... here is the squad that broke my heart: (start 2 QBs)

QB Kerry Collins (picked him off waivers since Rodgers... well, you know the story)

QB Matt Schaub

RB Adrian Peterson

RB Maurice Jones-Drew

RB Darren McFadden

WR Dwayne Bowe

WR Greg Jennings

WR Calvin Johnson

TE Jason Witten

PK Mason Crosby

DEF Green Bay Packers

I hate FF.... :hot:

Live and learn. When I get to the playoffs I normally handcuff my Monday or Sunday night starters. Was Gerhart already rostered in the OPs case? And for the above poster - depending on how much money I had invested I would have set an alarm and checked ESPN or here to make sure AP was in.

As for me, I lost by 2 in one league semi final and won by 2 in the other..so 1 Super Bowl and 1 3rd place game this year.

The loss I had was because of the Bears D/ST. I had Cutler who was having a good night so I thought he would eventually overcome the Bears D scoring for my opponent. Joe Webb was just overwhelmed throwing balls up for grabs and the punter finally got burned by kicking to Hester.

Only reason I won the other matchup is because he had Bears D as well, but returns didn't count for the D/ST, only the individual player.

One of my teams was the highest scoring in the league, going into the playoffs with a 6-game winning streak. Here's my lineup:

QB - P.Manning

RB - MJD

RB - A.Foster

RB - A.Bradshaw

WR - R.White

WR - T.Owens

TE - A.Hernandez

K - M.Bryant

D - New England

Foster and T.O. get hurt, MJD and Bradshaw lay eggs. I was still ok though, since the Giants were doing such a great job against Vick and Maclin... well, for 3 quarters anyway. Oops!

My team was 8-0 at one point, ended the season at 10-2.

Going into the playoffs my team had scored 1479 total points. The next team was 211 points behind me! :lmao:

Over coached in week 14 that cost me a chance at the Championship.. :(

Week 14..

McNabb and Moss hadn't been playing very well and were playing outdoors in what looked to be bad weather conditions vs. Tampa D ranked 12th against the pass.

Meanwhile, Crabtree was facing the Seahawks D ranked 28th vs. the Pass.. Over coached and played CrabTree. :bag:

Moss scored 21, Crabtree scored 1.. I lost by 2 points. :lmao:

This is an ESPN league where we play 2 weeks in round one against the same team and two weeks for the Championship.

If I had made it to the Championship round, I'd be up 134 to 82 right now. :loco:

I had the luck of being in the same division as our league champion. He is still playing while he just sent me packing this last weekend. He was 12-3 while I was 11-4.

The guy from the other division, whom he will throttle this weekend, is 9-6.

I went up against P. Rivers and V. Jackson last week and just couldn't dig out of the hole.

Here was my lineup last week:

qb) Eli Manning

rb) Peyton Hillis - worst week of his season I believe.

rb) Darren McFadden - sure he had the yards, but I needed TD's! Kills me that he got pushed OB at the 1 twice...you're welcome Michael Bush owners!

wr) Hakeem Nicks - decent

wr) Calvin Johnson - good yardage...still no TD's.

wr) Brandon Marshall - decent

te) Owen Daniels - dud

pk) Janikowski - decent

d/st) Ravens

QB P.Manning

RB Hillis

RB C.Johnson

WR R.Wayne

WR Ochocinco (benched B.Lloyd)

TE V.Davis

Lost by 6 points because of Tebow starting in Denver I benched B.Lloyd.

QB Vick

RB Foster

RB Moreno

WR R.Wayne

WR AJ

WR Welker

TE Daniels

PK Carpenter

TD San Diego

Too many of my players had oopsie-weeks. I lost in the Semis to a team that had its highest score of the season by 20+pts, while I had my lowest score of the season. My season point average was higher than his semifinal score! Worse yet, I'll get to hear about this defeat for the next 12 months.

your fault. How do you not carry Gerhart with such large roster  :hey: ? I have a roster half the size of yours, and I had the handcuff for my stud in case something like that happened. It saved my season. :shark:

I had AD and CJ both handcuffed in my salary cap league, but unfortunately did not leave enough cap room to move Gerhart up from the taxi squad. Had the best regular season and the highest point total by far. Lost because of that mistake even having Vick in my starting lineup. :goodposting:

Talk about heart breakers, I had Peyton Hillis, Aaron Rodgers, VD and PItt D, a #1 seed as they rocked all year, then a big fat loss Sunday as they all imploded.

Earned First round Bye with the following:

Cutler

ADP

CJ3

AJ

Dez

Owens

Bironas

Rotating Defenses

Round two, was able to sub in Mike Williams(Sea) for Dez when he went down, but simply couldn't overcome the goose eggs from both TO and ADP.

-Was working a trade for Gerhart up to the trade deadline, however come deadline night, the owner was in no hurry, not realizing the deadline was that night.. OOF

Still, Gerhart wouldn't have been quite enough.

Thought about subbing Torain for ADP with the field conditions, and the "Questionable" tag, but couldn't bring myself to do it.. thankfully for my sanity, I'd still have lost by 2 with Torain in there.

2 teams, one 11-2, the other 10-3...

both scored the 2nd most points in the league this week, but played the highest scoring team:

ppr, start 2RB/2WR/1TE/2FLEX:

Big Ben

Rice

MJD

Mendy

Torain

Greg Jennings

Sidney Rice

Keller

Kaeding

2nd team in my signature, team I played had Vick, DeSean, and Maclin....thought I was good until that last half of the 4th Q in the Eagles game.

My primary keeper team in a 14-team league. This team kills me. I've been in this league 5 years and have been the scoring leader every year but one, and I was a very close # 2 that year. This year, I was more than 150 points ahead of the # 2 team but put up my lowest score of the year (by a significant margin) this weekend. Every year, some goofy thing happens in the playoffs; I've never even made it to the championship game in this one. Either someone for the other team blows up when no one saw it coming or my guys hobble off the field early in the game. I scored about 50 points below my avg with this team this weekend. Anyway, here's the roster:

QB: Brady

RB: Peterson, Turner, McCoy

WR: Andre Johnson, TO

TE: Gronkowski

K: Kaeding

DEF: Raiders

IDPs: Chad Greenway & Terrell Thomas (transitioning to an IDP league, so we have 2 this year plus DST)

Bench: Jacoby Ford, Michael Crabtree, Stevie Johnson, Percy Harvin, Brandon Tate, Randy Moss, James Starks

Brady had his worst game since week 8.

Peterson gave me a donut (was at a Christmas event and got the news he was out 9 mins after kickoff).

Turner had his worst game since week 10.

McCoy had his worst game since week 3.

AJ had his worst game since week 11.

TO gave me a second donut.

Gronkowski disappointed (I had cut Jimmy Graham for him)

Kicker, DEF, and IDPs were ok.

Ford blew up on my bench. Harvin and Stevie Johnson had decent days on the pine, too.

We get return yardage in this league, so I actually had Ford in my lineup until I chickened out Saturday and decided to put TO back in to "go with what you there." Would have made a huge difference, but not enough unless I could have caught the AP news a little sooner. Oh well.

OTOH, I'm in 2 other leagues and playing for the championship in both. If I win the work league, that'd make it 2 out of 4 years. If I win the church league, that'd make it 3 out of 4 years.

But this keeper league is killing me.

I should be in the finals. Two mistakes I made: Using Joe Webb over Brandon Marshall (He has been real #### lately), and forgetting Prater was OUT. Lost because of that last Bears DFR by .52 pts.

I needed 1 point from ADP or for NE D to get another 4 yards on the kickoff run back to avoid a tie and lose the tie breaker.

had a 8 point lead going into MNF, got 10 from forte and went against the bears defense which got around 20, lost by 2 points. Why did the vikings kick to hester anyway?????

MOX SF2 league. #1 in point two years running, lose in the round of 4 two years running

Brees

Collins

ADP

Foster

Colston

DeSean

Welker

smashed fools all season. Got beat by Witten, Steven Johnson and Rivers. team just had a sub par week

Nobody said this had to be specific to this year but my all time worst beat was in 2002. I had horrible matchups in the semi final round of the playoffs and ended up losing by two points. That season I had a 900+ point lead on the second best team and would have easily won in the finals... it hurts still to this day!

QB Gannon 4,689yds Passing w/ 26 tds

RB Priest Holmes 2287 total yds & 24 tds

RB Tomlinson 2172 total yds & 15 tds

WR Burress 1325 yds & 7 tds

WR Rod Smith 1127 yds & 5 tds

WR Tim Brown 930 yds @ 2 tds

TE Randy McMichael 485 yds & 4 tds

K Janikowski

DST TB

This year was my worst break ever in one league...finished 11-4 (some double headers) and started out at 1-3. We have two flex positions, so I am able to start 4 RBs. It is a Keep 3, 12 teams, .5 PPR, but here is my roster...

Brady

Fitzpatrick

Hillis

MJD

Rice

Felix

Westbrook

AJ

Stevie Johnson

Ocho

Bess

Gaffney

Mike Thomas

Gronkowski

Dallas Clark on IR

GB Def

Rackers

Was doing last minute checking on my roster (had been travelling and offline a few days).

The 1pm cutoff was upon me. Saw that Mike Williams was playing and wanted to get him in my lineup for Garcon. But I looked at Nicks info - Yahoo (as I realized later) had a glitch and did not show his week 14 game in their Game Log - it looked like he had not played for the last 2 weeks. In the rush, I panicked thinking Nicks had not played and was possibly not going to play this week?!! I subbed Williams for Nicks. But wait a sec! I was SURE Nicks played and went to sub him back in for Garcon. Too late! In that 2 minute window, the 1pm game started and all 3 wrs in question played at 1 and were locked.

Had I been 2 minutes later I would not have been able to make a sub and would have started my orginial lineup of Nicks and Garcon:

Nicks + Garcon = 27.7 points (original lineup)

Had I been 30 seconds earlier, I would have been able to get Nicks back into my lineup:

Nicks + Williams = 33 points

That 2 minute window netted me Williams and Garcon:

Garcon + Williams = 24 points

I lost my game by 1.16 points.

Despite that my opponent and I were biting our nails during the GB/NE game. His players were finished and I had Brady going. Needed less then 20 points from him. Another TD or even another 30 yards passing would have gained the win.

Making matter more painful for me.... I went against DeSean and Cooley. Midway thru the 4th quarter, the two had a grand total of 0 points. The last 8 minutes of their games resulted in 34 total points including the last second DeSean TD. So yes, in addition to my own misfortune, I was waiting in line behind Coughlin! :lmao:
