The Rise of Beardthulu
Out of the six staff members in this week's selection, three went with Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. He's definitely an underrated - and probably under-owned - choice this week and he's coming off back to back 25-plus point weeks. Last week's came against the Patriots as well, so it's not just tomato cans. As Joe Bryant and Mark Wimer point out in this week's matchups, Oakland is last in the NFL against the pass allowing 303.8 yards per game and have only seven interceptions compared to 11 touchdowns. This is a good week to start Fitzpatrick, shocking though that might be to say out loud. The $5700 price point is nice and pair him with Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker (assuming he plays) at $7300 or $6500 respectively and you can invest the money elsewhere.
Stud RBs
Both Todd Gurley ($8300) and Devonta Freeman ($8700) still get a lot of play especially in a week where the matchups are so choice. You can find value elsewhere, and the only downside is these two should be heavily owned.
(Ladarius) Green means go
At $3500, and with Antonio Gates missing the whole week of practice, Ladarius Green represents a strong play. He's done all right at times even when he is splitting time, but with Gates out, against a banged up and underwhelming Baltimore defense, this is a no-brainer play.
Glaring Omissions
We're seeing Adrian Peterson under-owned almost everywhere we look, including here on staff. While the $8300 might worry people (along with a lack of touchdowns two weeks straight), it shouldn't Peterson has had some of his best games against the Chicago Bears and they have been allowing a lot of yards against quality backs like Eddie Lacy (85 yds, 1 TD), some newer faces (Thomas Rawls, 104 yds) and some surprising names (Chris Johnson, 72 yards). Peterson could be a nice play on a week when he appears under-owned.
Diamonds in the rough
Nate Washington ($3200) could see a lot of work against Tennessee, with attention heading to DeAndre Hopkins and is a good low-key play. Micheal Floyd ($3500) is a great play with Carson Palmer throwing to him and John Brown out. Finally, Chris Johnson ($5900) could feast off the same matchup as Floyd, as Cleveland struggles to stop the tun.
