Fargo TV series on FX - season 3 starts TONIGHT 4/19!!! (1 Viewer)

Also, as far as additional aging questions and episode 1 goes..... the murderer they were looking for is Yuri Gurker

That's Varga's enforcer dude.  But the cold open took place in 1988, which was 22 years ago.  I don't think Varga's top enforcrer looks old enough to have been a murderer in 1988, but it's a lot closer than say, the old man Stussey thing.  Also it could be Gurker's father or brother of who knows what.

But also, Yuri seems to be the main tie in to the present day story and the opening of the season.  The other tie being that the 1988 East Berlin scene was about the truth being what someone says it is regardless of the real facts, which was a point driven home in multiple storylines here in E5.

I haven't enjoyed it as much so far as the first two seasons or as much as the current season of Better Call Saul.  Trying to figure out why and I think it's because I just don't care about any of the characters anymore.  None of these new guys get me excited to cheer for them.
OK, I found one... that puking tooth picking guy is awesome.  The chick is starting to grow on me too now that she got the crap beat out of her.  Glad they killed the brother instead of her although the way he died was pretty cartoonish.

the conversation between Varga & Burgle was pretty cool. so far, he's been able to railroad over anyone else he's talked to just by being smart & intimidating. when she was giving it back to him, he had this look on his face...kinda like he was impressed to finally meet his match.

I've always kinda felt that Ewan McGregor was the weak link in this show. I guess now it won't be half as bad. ZING!

This far in, I'm liking season 3 more than season 2.

Also, was the male cop browsing Tinder in 2010 on his Blackberry?

No way, this season is not as realistic nor as entertaining.  Season II was perfect, this one is good but flawed in an artistic sense.  The episode where the Eden Valley Cop goes to LA was a complete waste, nothing at all there.  Season II had no wasted episodes IMO.

The cop that let the Rssian guy stay in the library reminded me of the cop in Season 1 who walked away when Malvo told him to. The season 1 cop was the one who finally got Malvo.

To me, that scene is indicative of what separates the previous seasons from this one.  There was a believability to the cop letting Malvo go.  We understood why he didn't stop him.  They took the time to make him a real person with family considerations (single father not wanting to leave his daughter without parents).  This season?  Even the chief in season one at least had logic to his stupidity.  What do we get in season 3.....mashed potato theory?  I think the guy even said 'you'd have to be some kind of intellectual to believe something like that'.

i still trust the season to wrap up satisfactorily, so I'll hang in there.  But damn they have stretched the levels of stupidity beyond believability.  It's like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber was handed a badge and told "ok, go be a cop"

I struggled with the first few episodes, but, this show is finally hitting on all cylinders for me  Characters are sharply developed now and the symbolism is off the charts. Fabulous show.

Lol at all the FBG critics.  Maybe some plot holes here and there but still one of the best shows on tv.  I'm enjoying this season as much as I did the first two.  Some of you are acting as if this is the second season of True Detective.

btw, what was the deal with my man Varga opening all the Christmas gifts? Love that guy.

BTW, Michael Stuhlbarg also killing it.  Another Coen movie alum (A Serious Man) ... is this a record for # of actors in the tv series that also were in Coen Bros movies?  Stuhlbarg, Thewlis ... anybody else?

This is what drew me to the show in the first place - Lorne Malvo's totally original selfishness logic, revisited in Puketooth.

I'm a hippie. Stuff don't phase me. The only impression y'all's sous vides & Hamilton tickets make on me is how many African villages could have fresh food & clean water for what it costs and what prisoners y'all are to that ####. The power that gets the freedom to execute parking lot jackholes and open someone else's Christmas gifts with impunity - now THAT's interesting!

Hippie with a power fetish?  Go on ...

Power's a means - originality is the end.

It's all frontiers, baby. As an active part of the gen that destroyed the ethics upon which civilization was built, i got chances to feel i might be the first person to do what i was doing. You've no idea how disheartening is the realization that all that added up to was clearing the way for ComicCons & pet's rights to be motive intents for living. The selfishness which freedom has wrought is not going to be coralled in my time and human progress is not going to occur til it does, so i'm ####in bored with y'all. Malvo & Puketooth spark me up a li'l.

Mr Wrench is the only character in all 3 seasons, right?  What about Lou... was he on the TV at Ennis' house before he got glued?

Holy ####, Rothstein from Boardwalk Empire...the mustache completely threw me off.

he's so good. his reactions are money. he plays so well off of the other characters, I just seem to watch him in every scene to see how he reacts to what the other people are saying/doing.
Never in a million years would've known that was Rothstein. Holy ####.

It might not have been everyone's cup of tea (shout out to Stuhlbarg) but I loved the last episode.  It was my kind of weird.

I've got good news...............the bangs you like is going to come back in style........hallelujah

hallelujah

where we're from, the wolves sing a pretty song.......................and there's always arrows in the air

*dance*

some of your friends are here...................hello, sheriff deputy Burgle.......*snap*..........see you in four more episodes

doppelganger!

meanwhile...............awwwwoooooooooooooo!

The first 15 minutes were :jawdrop:       .. Then it went into "Fargo Land" ..

:loco: but satisfying at the same time..

I don't do very good at following dates in TV shows.. Just how far into the Future did we jump from the drugging of Mustache, to the Hospital room?

Xmas 2010-March 2011

I'm not sure any of the men in this season are equal to Burgle or Swango. Swango has survived several "she's gonna die here" scenes, and the only thing that might stop Burgle is the box, the hand, and the robot.
