I have a friend who is a Jets fan that I watch the draft with most years - 2006 was the first one in a loooong time he didn't have that priceless look...2005When the Jets selected Mike Nugent w/ thier 1st pick in the draft..The look on the fans faces were priceless.
and then they mess it up again the next yearMinnesota running out the clock in the first round - priceless!![]()
Kiper and Tobin for sure. Also, anything Jets related for a while there. Jeff Lageman, Kyle Brady....man, ESPN had some good shots of the Jets fans in the audience. The back and forth between Kiper and the Colts...easily the best for me.
Or taking JJ over Steven JacksonEasy for me - the Dallas Cowboys select...Quincy Carter???![]()
Nothing else really comes close. That was great live television and so very uncomfortable. The back and forth between Kiper and the Colts...easily the best for me.

IIRC is that the year where they were running out of time and while their rep was walking to the podium some guy from KC stood up and blocked his path. The time ran out and KC made their pick. Please correct me as I'm sure it wasn't exactly like that but I remember talking to my buddies about the "pick" play referencing a basketball "pick and roll" and also the "anti-pick" meaning no draft pick at all.and then they mess it up again the next year :(Minnesota running out the clock in the first round - priceless! The second year was the best!
This is it for sure.Minnesota running out the clock in the first round - priceless!

Well the Mario selection was a done deal the day before the draft, so I don't think you can call it a "draft day" memory. How can it take more than a minute to get the Texans taking Mario Williams over Young or Bush?
First thing that came to mind. Jets have some good ones too - some GREAT booing and disbelief from their fans.LHUCKS said:good onePhurfur said:Minnesota running out the clock in the first round!

Kiper was the man:"It's obvious to me with that pick, that the Jets just have no idea what the draft is all about"Bob Ley: "Mel, don't pull any punches, tell us how you feel...." Bob Ley was a great guy to pair with Mel, he was so chill compared to Mel.![]()
Actually the first year the Cowboys time ran out and the Vikings didn't make a pick in front of them.Routilla said:IIRC is that the year where they were running out of time and while their rep was walking to the podium some guy from KC stood up and blocked his path. It's hard to debate how good McNabb has been. But most Eagles fans either wanted them to take Ricky Williams or do the NO trade. But look at all the picks they could have gotten:1999 picks: 12, 71, 107, 144, 179, 2182000 picks: 2, 64It's hard to say who the Eagles could've taken, but you wouldn't trade McNabb for:Jevon Kearse with 12, Joey Porter with 71, Dexter Jackson with 107, Chris Samuels/Lavar Arrington with 2 and Laverneus Coles/Darrell Jackson with 64. Because all these players went in the neighborhood of those picks. In hindsight watching this once again, I think its funny how Philly booed McNabb.
Yes, safe to say I wouldn't take McNabb over a list of cherry-picked players, the best possible choice at each possible position in the draft. How very realistic of you. It's hard to debate how good McNabb has been. I'm not saying they would have taken all those players. See the sentence prior to the listing of players. But is McNabb really the reason the Eagles are so good? They looked pretty good in the games where McNabb was hurt and the rest of the team was still intact. Plus, there is still the possibility that had the Eagles traded down and gotten all those picks, they could have still traded back up and gotten McNabb.Yes, safe to say I wouldn't take McNabb over a list of cherry-picked players, the best possible choice at each possible position in the draft. How very realistic of you.

I was at this draft. The Colts take Trev Alberts at number....5, I think. Mel Kiper goes off:Colts Win said:Whats this Kiper Colts thing?
I don't dispute the overall point, but we're still waiting on that "future" Pro Bowl for Mr. Jansen.MarksSharks said:All time favorite is 1999 draft when New Orleans trades their ENTIRE DRAFT to move up to #5 with the Redskins and draft Ricky Williams.
Redskins then use the picks to move back up to draft future all pro Champ Bailey at #7 and future pro bowler Jon Jansen in the second round.
LOVE IRON MIKE!! Best thing to happen to a Redskins draft ever!
